Eating this chicken will increase your HP+4, their mince increases your magic +5 and their steak increases dexterity by +12

No, I have no idea. Probably some points diet fad thing.

Again with the chicken?
some where lucky to get 2 for £4 last week, Others (like me) only found 2 for £6
Same price as Asda, I hate Tesco
Good deal, gotta love cheap breasts!
Life + 4 means the items use by date is at least 4 days away, i believe.

Perhaps these chickens were allowed to live for 4 months before being slaughtered or perhaps that's 4 years!
However, for those who are genuinely curious I would assume that it is how long it will keep in the fridge before becoming unsafe to eat.
Or years of chicken
Makro sell 5kg of chicken for £20.99 so defo cold from me
Not everyone has a Makro card :-|

It means the chicken has a shelf life of 4 days when you receive it.

Well, it should do, except quite often the **** who picks your shopping picks the chicken which is to be eaten by tomorrow......
As above the Makro comment is stupid. Plus my local one is 50mins away (£20 in petrol for a return trip).

This is basically the same deal as what has been running, that was buy one get one free at £6, so hot from me. The previous week that offer was scanning at £4 a pack, so actually £2 for 500g if you buy 2!

Hopefully the beef offer will also still be on this weekend, handy when you eat as much meat as I do!

This is why I NEVER use online ordering. However Tesco have got really bad for sell-by dates recently, I'm almost at the point of switching supermarkets now becuase of it - every weekend I go to Tesco and it seems harder and harder to find meat and veg that doesn't expire within 2 days, I plain don't like freezing stuff and as I can only shop once a week it's a major issue for me.

It never used to be this bad....

And not everyone wants to freeze their chicken, unless you can get through that much chicken?
I saw this yesterday in my local store. Worth noting that this isn't British chicken it's from Holland
voted cold
as i just been to Tesco Extra at Pengam Green....
No such offer on, all they got is the 2 for £6, which is the british 300g chicken (£4 per pack).
and the Holland chicken = no deals whatsoever...

Tesco Extra's don't get all of the same offers as the superstores, probably larger stores only

Tesco are rubbish when is comes to anything that is not in a box. Milk, veg and meat all go off quickly, even before the dates are up!

keefff

You've obviously never bought fresh fruit or veg from Aldi then for example.

They are terrible on shelf life. They sell fresh fruit and vege right at the end of their life. far worse than Asda or Tesco

Idiots, who us?
I have to agree with you Tesco's and most other leading supermarket chains keep ripping us off trying to convince us that we are getting value for money but everything gets smaller in size to keep the price the same.
I remember as a kid the wagon wheels were the size of a house and now I can practically eat one in one bite LOL

Or, perhaps you've grown?
You've got to think about it, how is this chicken so cheap?
I like a bargain but when it comes to chicken I like to buy free range, even if it costs more.
If you have no idea what I am talking about then then go on YouTube and type in "Industrial Chicken Farm".

If that was the 750g steak mince which was £2.67 (or something like that) I think it finished yesterday.
Am I not right in saying that halal has nothing to do with the way the animal is reared but how it's slaughtered?

No, you are right.
The offer is very misleading but looking at the heat of the thread many got caught too.

According to Tesco this is HALF PRICE product , which obviously is an utter BS since I can't imagine anybody with healthy mind paying £12 per kilo for standard, Dutch, chicken breast @ tesco. You can buy free range meat cheaper.

Common, this is just standard, imported chicken breast sold at slightly lower price than normal (£7 - 8 per kilo)

Then doesn't that mean that buying kosher/halal doesn't guarantee a good product?

Yes, that is correct. Halal or kosher meat might be good or bad quality, just as non-halal / non-kosher meat might be.
My local halal butcher sells chicken breast for around £4.30 a kg all the time and 10kg for £32 .Means freezing a stack of it, but worth the initial outlay.
