Award winning and excellent book, unique POV, thoroughly enjoyed the book, as has everyone I know that has read it.

"Adrian Tchaikovksy's critically acclaimed stand-alone novel Children of Time is the epic story of humanity's battle for survival on a terraformed planet.

Who will inherit this new Earth?

The last remnants of the human race left a dying Earth, desperate to find a new home among the stars. Following in the footsteps of their ancestors, they discover the greatest treasure of the past age - a world terraformed and prepared for human life.

But all is not right in this new Eden. In the long years since the planet was abandoned, the work of its architects has borne disastrous fruit. The planet is not waiting for them pristine and unoccupied. New masters have turned it from a refuge into mankind's worst nightmare.

Now two civilizations are on a collision course, both testing the boundaries of what they will do to survive. As the fate of humanity hangs in the balance, who are the true heirs of this new Earth?"

You beat me to posting this by about a minute. I bought the book a few days ago with a credit after seeing recommendations on Reddit.

Today, I reversed the purchase and bought as DOTD.

This is a modern classic and worth picking up at this price.

Good read

Excellent! Picked up the kindle book I’m a sale not so long ago. Time to add this to my stack...

I paid full price for this on Audible only last week and I would pay full price again as it is that bloody good!
So to be able to pay just a few quid for it you would be mad not to take the offer up.

Heat from me

Giant intelligent spiders, bedtime reading this was not..

Cheers OP, bought the kindle book the other day too,

Bought the Kindle version for 99p the other day and am really enjoying it. If Audiobook s are your think you should take a listen.

I haven’t ever tried but you can download them so I wouldn’t see an issue burning it to cd though may require some software to ‘allow’ this

You can burn cd's with itunes, it does a good job, but won't do mp3 cd's.

I read the book ages ago and loved it, so why the hell not - I'll have a listen. Cheers OP

Thanks for the info. If I can burn an audio CD through iTunes then I must be able to rip that to MP3.

Yeah, you can, but itunes gives the audio cd's a random id, I just tested it on disc 1 of 2001 a space Odyssey, it showed as an album called "Shell" by Gregory Darling. The mp3's are of 2001, so it means renaming everything.
