'Children of Time is a joy from start to finish. Entertaining, smart, surprising and unexpectedly human.' - Patrick Ness

Winner of the 30th anniversary Arthur C. Clarke Award for Best Novel

Adrian Tchaikovksy's critically acclaimed, stand-alone novel Children of Time, is the epic story of humanity's battle for survival on a terraformed planet.

Who will inherit this new Earth?

The last remnants of the human race left a dying Earth, desperate to find a new home among the stars. Following in the footsteps of their ancestors, they discover the greatest treasure of the past age - a world terraformed and prepared for human life.

But all is not right in this new Eden. In the long years since the planet was abandoned, the work of its architects has borne disastrous fruit. The planet is not waiting for them, pristine and unoccupied. New masters have turned it from a refuge into mankind's worst nightmare.

Now two civilizations are on a collision course, both testing the boundaries of what they will do to survive. As the fate of humanity hangs in the balance, who are the true heirs of this new Earth?

this is a wonderful book, had it last time it was on offer and rate it as one of the best books i've had.
I rate it 3/10
Brilliantly written book. Not usually my cup of tea but I give it a try las5 time it was this price and I do not regret it one bit
I bought the paperback version cause of all the positive reviews on here. Still haven’t got round to reading it. Hope it lives up to all the hype, because it cost me £8.
This was on offer on Audible a few weeks ago for £1.99, I've recently started listening to it. Rather enjoying it, even if the narrator has got this habit of putting on an irritating voice makes me wish I had time to read the physical book. The book is very well written and is gripping, definitely worth 99p.
Sounds just up my street!
I used to enjoy reading Arthur C Clarke, Isaac Asimov and stanislaw Lem as a young teenager, I’ll give it a go. thanks O
