No idea how good (or not!) these are, but I know a lot of people like them for weddings and parties, quite cheap to stock up at this price!

How many do you get for a pound? is it just the one?

A pound, never!!

Good for causing UFO activity

Only a week now until Poundland hits Northern Ireland!

These really annoy farmers :-D

Aren't these with open fires and very dangerous?

They start to descend because the burner has gone out then they are cool by the time they hit the ground

Unless of course they hit a tree or a house while they are rising and thus still have an open flame.

You get one for a quid - well I assume!
I've no idea how they work, they've never interested me, but I know a lot of people rave about them, so thought it might interest someone!

If you use a bit of common sense and release them in an open area with little wind, you wont have any problems. I have used many of these with no problems at all

Great for a quid! Will pick some up this afternoon =] thanks op

I don't doubt that bloaty but you and I both know.... there's always one!

This is a great deal. Heat added.

We used these at a party when we were all a bit drunk. The lantern bounced off my neighbours house. I skipped a few heart beats, but fortunately it managed to keep going upwards and off into space.

Well worth a quid.

What? Your neighbours house? :-D

Fantastic thank you!

Picked 2 up yesterday I didn't realise how big they were! Has anyone tried letting them off yet? I can imagine the poundworld ones setting on fire lol

A week late. The Mid-Autumn festival was last week.

Meh. What happens when they come back down? Just another piece of garbage clogging up the streets.

Biodegrade versions are available. And as mentioned before seeing locals running around chasing these UFO's is well worth the effort!

'STEVE, STEVE, THERE'S ANOTHER ONE, GET THE VIDEO'!

there 100% biodegradable .. i got one yesterday for a special reason.

Coloured Or Just White??

Worth letting Air Traffic Control know at your nearest airport before you let these go. We get quite a few 'there's an aeroplane on fire' or 'I've just seen a distress flare' phone calls from the public who see these, and are duty bound to follow them up, wasting everyone's time and taxpayers' money, even though we know it's probably guff. So if we know beforehand the time and location it helps greatly!

Also, if you're quite near to an airport, you should get permission before flying them, as technically they're classed as 'aircraft', and you could get in trouble if you infringe controlled airspace with them (although if no harm's done, it's unlikely it would be followed up). More importantly, you don't want one of these getting ingested by an engine and finding yourself responsible for untold carnage.

Otherwise, great fun, fill your boots for £1!:-D

Excellent, I live on a flightpath.

Word of warning, my wife set fire to her face with these

worth a look in

do they take batteries seeing..they are flying lanterns

Thus spake the Rev. I.M. Jolly ... bundle of laughs you are at parties ...

We let some off in a Glasgow park ... they rose vertically by about 10 feet then proceeded in a horizontal direction at tremendous speed (some freaky winds) ... crashing into the newly re-opened and multimillion poundly expensive Kelvingrove Art Gallery.

We scarpered jolly quick :w00t:

cheap item and open flame better tip off the dailly mail
