I think this is the regular price for this mouse however I have been searching so long for vegetarian choc mousse and never found. Hope this helps someone!

    Vegetarian? I think you'll find most people prefer their chocolate mouse with bits of chicken in. What's wrong with you.

    Is it labelled as vegetarian, not just that the ingredient list doesn't include gelatine?

    yes exactly states suitable for vegetarians its on the pic near the bottom little hard to read.

    It's only 'food tech' which needs gelatine to keep a mousse firm and lasting forever. If you were making your own, most recipes do not have gelatine. First google hit, got me this:

    Anyone know where I can get hold of veggie marshmallows? I'm sure the Sainsbury's ones didn't have gelatin in (yonks ago) but can't seem to find any now that are veggie friendly

    From your viewpoint there is no 'problem' but for others the thought of eating boiled animal parts for a desert may be not so palatable. Please see the interweb for details of why meat eating is a bad idea for ethical, environmental and health reasons. At the end of the day in the democracy we live in the choice is yours.

Your reply then did elude to potential problems, although very generalised, since most of what you infer is not meat eating itself that's an issue, rather the modern, intensive methods for producing it. Since meat production is still occurring, producing gelatine could be seen as excellent use of meat by-products (although I am not under the illusion this is actually the case).

    On the flip side, personally, I fail to see how the likes of Quorn are any better for "ethical, environmental and health reasons", although I am not assuming that you, or all vegetarians, eat it. I would like to see a more balanced and natural approach to how we produce and consume food.
