If you love a gadget and music this is a superbly satisfying purchase. Makes almost ever track sound better than you could imagine. Ideally used with good headphones and good quality streams but even Youtube sounds much, much better. Great resale value and feels superbly well made. Won What Hifi Awards 4 or 5 years running. I use Shure HD1840 with mine. Played Gosh by Jamie XX to my wife and she agreed with the full price purchase of 399!!!!!

That’s the new RRP now
If you you this from any analogue output eg mini jack (on your phone) or USB, then there is no benefit. These outputs have already been converted to analogue. So converted them from analogue to digital to analogue (again) has no benefit.

Otherwise the only reasons it may seem better is because it emphases some part of the audio specrtum or just makes it louder or your expectations: if you think it is better then it will sound better to you!

I bought a Chord DAC a couple years ago when I was drunk and let loose on eBay. I got it for £450 which was a decent price, about half the cost of a new one. I didn't even test it out. I ended up swapping it for a gaming PC which I still have and just upgraded.

Anyway the point of this post is not to interest you in the banal, but to say that the person I swapped it with, regarded it highly and thought it was better than his Arcam DAC.
Honestly save your money buy a Cyrus Soundkey for £60 odd quid about 90% of the Chord Hugo/AQ Cobalt (which i have owned)
I've had one for a few years. It sounds amazing.

The Cyrus Soundkey doesn't come anywhere near the quality of the Mojo, it really struggles to drive higher impedance headphones. I've owned my Mojo for two years now!

Also, it is £299 until the end of the year, it returns to £399 in the new year.

What are you smoking... The Mojo has never been anywhere near £900
This is a solid bit of kit. Got 1 when released, just needs a portable battery unit or something.

Wrong, for a number of reasons. Firstly, there is no analogue input: you cannot connect any mini jack from your phone. And USB is digital. And it's an amplifier as well as a DAC so you won't just think it's better, it IS better because without an amplifier you wouldn't actually hear anything!

If I connect my phones to a pc (for instance) I hear sound. If I connect by phones through this device, I hear sound. The device needs sound going into it for sound to come out. Converion by the DAC probably does require an amplifier, so what?

Louder does not mean better. Louder is just louder not better. Anyway it shouldn't be better, better is the wrong word, it should be as close as possible to the original sound. By using a custom DAC it's supposed to do that but if the source has already been converted to analogue then there is no point. The best input would be optical IMO

USB is not converted to analogue prior to output, the Mojo will take the signal digitally.
Knowing the price will return to £399 after the promo period, this 25% reduction is obviously hot.
