Exclusively when you buy a Chromebook at Currys PC World, you qualify to enrol for the trial. Chromebooks purchased at other retailers do not qualify.

Enrol
Enrol within 14 days of the purchase date on your receipt.

Return
After enrolling, if your Chromebook isn’t right for you, you can claim for a full refund within 90 days of your purchase date on your receipt by completing a returns claim on this site.

Refund

Took it back the next day. They made me sit about for 2 hours store was closing the manager asked why I was still waiting and I explained and he got me a replacement there and then. I'd be careful returning anything to world.Edit; just seen comment above about returning via Google.

I'm banned from Torquay Currys. I took and TV stereo back in 1998, after being told they would link up by the salesman. They took them back but charged me for a £600 surround sound system without telling me. I found out the next month when my credit card statement came. I got in my car and drove straight back, I wasn't very polite. Unless they have resurfaced the car park my tyre marks are still there from arriving and leaving

Ain't that truth?

I have just recently bought a Chromebook and I absolutely love it. I also have various tablets and a Windows 10 laptop. The Chromebook is great because it takes seconds to boot up.

Chrome is just an extension of Android,as you can put on Android games and apps.

It may be irrelevant to this deal but I'll never spend any money in PC World ever again after experiencing their awful returns procedure on a faulty tablet I bought of them a few years ago and tried to return the same day as purchased.

BTW Chromebooks are great just buy one from a decent shop!

Oh wow. They are sods when it comes to it.

Bought a used gaming pc (off the shelf). Got it home, couldn't connect it to the internet, so took it back. Their geek squad had a look and said I got a virus on it. I told them how is that possible? It's not been hooked up to the internet my end, they reformated the machine.

Turned out it was missing the ethernet driver to connect. This was back 2006 maybe (I was 16/18) now I know my own tech and how to repair.

I only ever buy from them if it's a clearance deal now. Can get it cheaper everywhere else online.
Irrelevant to this deal, but I had absolutely no trouble returning an Oculus Rift after a fortnight or so of use.

This was solely through their website though; wouldn't bother setting foot in their stores.
I know it is irrelevant to the OP but I've never had an issue with Curry's, bought a gaming mouse went faulty returned couple days later. Even a year later down the line one of my AirPods went faulty and they paid for the repair.

I have returned several times, always easy-peasy

Clearly, not many will return a Chromebook...if they've owned a low-end Windows laptop till now

(And Google/PC World banking on this)

No probs returning a fridge with a dent in it.
They gave me a new one straight away and even loaded it in the back of the hatchback for me.
Returned a faulty hard drive. They didn't even check it, just processed it.
I bought a clearance fridge freezer in-store but it was the wrong fit for my unit. They delivered it,my fitter said it was no good so I went in-store and they arranged to deliver a different model and collect the former no problem.

Thanks for posting @MassiveNights
I've added some vital info to the title and the opening of the OP as it very important and I don't want people missing this:-
Really important that you 'Enrol within 14 days'
Customers must enrol within 14 days of purchase. Customers must retain the original packaging. The Chromebook 90 day trial is for satisfaction reasons only. For accidental damage or manufacturer defects, the customer should return via the normal channels. Opia must receive the returned Chromebook from the customer within 14 days of receipt of the returns claim approval email. Refund will be made to the customer’s nominated bank account only. The refund amount will be equal to the amount shown on proof of purchase. Claims are limited to 1 device per customer.

Anyone considering this should read the Full T's and C'scurrys-ssl.cdn.dixons.com/css…654
Curry's are worst place to return. If it was with Amazon, I would have voted hot. No way to dispute. Even for getting warranty defects corrected for which they are responsible , they will put you on phone inside store for hours and try to blame you on phone so you never see the real person you are dealing with . Cold. Unless definitely sure about the item, I would not give them my money. If you gift or sell the item, new owner does not get the warranty.

But as people keep saying. You don't return this to Currys.
Not sure this is a deal?
Buy it and you won't want to return it. Trust me. Faster than a PC, more usability than a tablet. Battery that will last an age. All your android apps available. Google docs gives you office and its all saved to cloud using Google drive. Amazing piece of tech and its only not took off because it don't have an Apple on it.

If you know what your buying and checked it out online it's OK to buy from Currys, just don't go in there looking for any qualified expert advice. The lad giving you advice on a PC will be working on fridges the next week.

I'd imagine they need refurbs to sell to schools, they want Chromebooks in school but don't want to give them away cheap new for obvious reasons, so good way for them to get in refurbs and get more sales along the way
Are there no other outlets doing this scheme or has Google just chosen Currys?

No, "its only not took off" becasue many people would disagree with how you find it. I had one and hated everything about it. Far too restrictive; too slow and locked into the google world (just teh same way as apples are locked into theirs).

You can install Windows on Apple machines, Apple even provide the instructions and software to make it possible
What's the range of compatibility for Android apps? It is everything or a selection?

(Specifically Football Manager Touch tbh but that's a pretty niche question)
What's the best value one for less than 400? Always wanted to try one but couldn't justify it but this allows me to try before I properly buy.

I always say that Chromebooks are amazing for people who's use cases suit it.

I have a Windows laptop that I use a couple of times a month for some stuff as my Chromebook can't do it, but the 'daily driver' is the Chromebook by a long way. My wife has pretty much taken it over now though as for her it's just so easy to use.

I'm surprised you found yours too slow, I'd be interested to know what model it was as my HP 14 from circa 2013 is still going strong...granted it's not bogged down by Android or Linux apps so not sure how they might affect things but it's still super fast for just browsing and general stuff.

Those Celeron N processors tied to eMMC storage are pretty dismal to be honest. An iPad will render a webpage much faster.

Maybe the iPad would, but I don't think it would be that significant. Besides, I'd rather use a 14 inch screen with a keyboard than an iPad. Of course, others may not which takes me back to my use case statement.

The processors might have been dismal by windows standards but Chrome OS still flies on it.
if you buy online legally you have 2 weeks from delivery to return any item for whatever reason

Wow could you be more rude? It wasn't actually me comparing it against the iPad , I was simply replying to someone else doing so stating that in terms of page rendering you wouldn't notice much difference.

No mention of touchscreens or price so your comment is completely irrelevant so take your insults somewhere else.

Yes it is. Useful Chromebook Touchscreen models with Google Play Store are double price so this deal is a sham. I already have 3-4 chromebooks. Love chromebooks but won't buy without touchscreen.

You said "you have no clue what you're talking about" in relation to touchscreen and price, neither of which I mentioned.

It may have been a relevant comment to the deal as a whole, but certainly not to my statement and there was absolutely no reason to insult me.

I may be overeacting, but I hate when people use throwaway comments like that, as well as the earlier "lacking brains" statement you made, and think it's acceptable.
