it appears they don't like the win10 version as there is a 8.1 version but its £70+ - the win10 version is cheaper.

they also sell a cheaper one which shows as being able to play Warcraft games etc on it - heres link

Great price.

Can these cheaper Chinese tablets compete with an iPad? Debating whether to convert or not...

Half the price of the lenovo tab 2 hmm...

well of course not - but if ipads were priced lower we wouldn't bother getting cheaper ones - ive money but dont see the point spending loads of money when you can get something like this for under £65 delivered - ipads are over £100 more

More of a reliability thing I worry about, my iPad has lasted years and I've had no issues at all. I fear that these Chinese tablets don't last long in comparison.

am very tempted however windows 8 version has a lower processor, TCB offer cashback but only if you buy from their US warehouse and when i first went to the site i got an offer if i spent more than $50 id get a coupon code to use yeap i got 10 x $5 vouchers for everytime i spent over $50 however when applied at checkout your amount payable goes up by $10 work that out and now the win 10 has just sold out of EU warehouse .... i really think i shouldn't but i really want to go for this

Ipads aren't the be-all and end-all, though. My fiancee's iPad is about 3 years old and has recently had wifi issues. It could be going bad.

Just because it's apple, doesn't mean it's hugely better. Just like the brand new iPhones have performance issues as they have chips that differ in performance from two separate sources! As always, check reviews and go from there.

still available ?

A buyer in the other thread says these now come with Windows 10 so no upgrade needed. But also no MS Office 365 key for a year, just a 1 month trial. Apparently those 1 year keys were only given with Windows 8.1 versions but now discontinued.

Just bought one from EU warehouse with normal post and free expedited shipping ticked. Can someone who has used "Gearbest EU Warehouse" before tell me please:

1) If it is sent "signed for" or just as a normal post package?

2) How many working days before it arrives, roughly?

Thanks.

Hi, I try to use a coupon that I've got because I'm first buyer with them, but when I write it the price increase...is that normal???:D:D:D:D

I tried that too, $5 discount is applied to last price before current reduction apparently, goes up to £77 or something.

Not a bad looking tablet for the price.

From my own experience though, I would not touch Gearbest with a barge pole.

Thank you so much

I took a punt anyway

i restricted my temptation had a bad experince before with a nexus 7 from a company called yellowstone partners.... then i bought a moto e on a amazon lightning deal locked to vodafone for £50 but no matter which code seller i tried or who i took it to no one can unlock it the only people who can is vodafone who want £20 which i don't see point in giving considering ive never used them and don't see why they should have £20 of my cash for nothing!

Stay well away from Gearbest. They sent me the wrong phone, then refused a refund, offered me 15% of cost as a credit to their website if I kept the phone.I declined their offer and asked for a full refund to my credit card. This was refused and they only offered to give me a credit on their website to use against future purchases. Also they insisted I return the phone to China at my (considerable) expense before I would get anything.
I opened a dispute with my credit company who have now refunded me in full so at least I`m not out of pocket.I informed Gearbest the phone is available for collection by a courier or they can send me a pre paid envelope so I can return the phone. They are still insisting that I have to return the phone myself at my expense.I of course have refused, telling them once again the "goods are available for collection".And so the saga rumbles on.
Moral is NEVER EVER BUY ANYTHING FROM GEARBEST.
Also I did purchase from their "EU" WAREHOUSE

i listed this deal as since it was from a eu warehouse thought it was worth letting people know but the response has been people moaning. i came accroiss another good deal tonight of bluetooth headset camcorder under 20 pounds but have decided to keep this to myself

On the contrary.

People share their experiences on all aspects of a deal, whether it be the price, item quality or vendor dealings.

That is part of what the site is about.

Looking at things from your perspective though, if you do not wish people to share their problems, why do you share your problem of other sharing theirs?

Consistency would be of use in this respect.

had bad day - yes your right

just cant understand why this tablet is FAB on the bang good website dispatched from china and this one is **** on the gearbest website dispatched from Europe.

people would rather pay £59 from china than £64 from Europe

id rather pay the extra £5 now instead of waiting for postman to say sorry you need to pay custom charges

custom charges could be extra £9 and occurs postoffice admin fee of £8 = £ 17.00

How many times have you ordered from these Chinese sites? If it goes wrong can you send it back to the same EU warehouse or do they ask you to send it to China? Anything ever gone wrong for you with these guys?

It seems like a massive minefield if something goes wrong or missing in the post and it's really putting me off. I'm interested in the Teclast X98 Air but any possible returns and exchange process seems like a potential expensive nightmare.

Original Poster

ive ordered a phone from eu site - got a alternative one as they ran out of stock - i asked to return it but was offered a £20 refund on top of the phone so never went though returns procedure - but as far as im aware they do have a eu returns dept.sometimes they ask for returns to china at our expense but this depends on whether your returning for other reasons - if faulty they often ask for photo proof etc and refund but some sellers can be gits and ask for returns first : just hope all goes right and everyone gets their tablets they have ordered - i buy from china but stick to cheap £15 items so no custom charges - i buy from Europe a lot from other sellers and normally things go fine.

yeah im pleased i purchased one - great as a present as ours came with the original retail box - was purchased for a gift but like it so much decided to sell my old tablet and keep this for myself - strange win10 works better on this than my other tablet - like the fact it comes with dual os - im happy that other people got theirs OK and even thou this never got hot - i still think it was better than the bang good one as we also had a free screen protector added as standard. anyone who has received a tablet which has android in chinese follow the link above to set language
