Decent specs and I've heard of the brand in AliExpress but wonder if it will ever get any software updates...
I got chuwi before, never seen so poor wifi module in tablet, sold it straight away
they should get a lot off custom software updates

I highly reccomend the Teclast P10HD, from personal experience it's fantastic.

Great quality screen
3GB ram, very quick.
Battery life is fantastic
Enables 4g sim card
Android 9 OS
Relatively cheap
Chuwi are decent for the price, some of them are dual, Win and Android. You may find some for a good price on ebay, possibly with a keyboard.

Dropped my mi pad 4 yesterday buggered the screen, looked for another but all want stupid money.. nothing can touch it for the usual money

Does it need them?
Tablet market is tough.. Huawei models probably the way to go. Pros and cons to nearly all tablets unless you spend big

I just find the electronics that get frequent updates have a longer shelf life... perfect example is the fire tablets - as they are based on Android 5 even if you download Google play lots of apps aren't supported due to the age of the software

To be honest, from a hardware stand point, apple are untouchable for quality v price, android stagnated about 3 years ago

Plus security updates are more than handy ... Doubt there any many if any custom ROMs for this..
I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 hasn't had updates from Samsung for years, still works fine, not even got Android 8.0 and it cost £400 when new. Very tempted by this or another Samsung.
Still lockdown in Spain, could be getting relaxed by the 2nd of May 😷🤞
My Chuwi ended up as a bookend all I can say really.

Sad times.

Love my mipad 4... As you say nothing seems to beat it on specs, price and quality of hardware.

Huawei prob next best with at 32gb of storage.

Unfortunately I missed out on the deal for £80ish mipads a few months back. Was ordering 2 for the kids here, but the Chinese seller backed out and said out of stock

😡 Annoying
Think x20 ones have been as low as £80. It is now an old chipset.
Yes, a quick check on Ali for 'Helio X20 tablet's. £65 (not Chuwi)
Having owned several cheap no name tablets, can only say save your money. Anything from unusable touch screen, lack of WiFi or just quite frankly half baked firmware. Honestly not worth the hassle
I've said this a few times, but Chuwi are not a great brand for Android tablets. The ROMs are buggy and updates non-existent.
Poor battery life of only 6 hours for video?

Also bear in mind you won't get HD playback from Netflix etc.

Snap. A decent hardware spec does not necessarily make for a good device. Thorough product development, customer support regular updates/bug fixes are at least equally important. In my experience, the cheap Chinese brands like Teclast and Chuwi suck at this. All three of my Chuwi and Teclast tablets are still working after a couple of years but they all have flaws and bugs, most of which were present from day one and never fixed. Net result is that they are stuck in a cupboard. In all conscience i would not sell them to someone without at least a medium level of techie knowledge. As for dual OS tablets, great idea but a world of pain believe me. Buy cheap, buy twice. I eventually learned the lesson.

Agreed, I only buy second hand ipads now, far better investment and the quality between the 2 is night and day even if spec suggests otherwise

As a die hard anti-apple fan even i must concede that apple had the tablet market sewn up long ago - good hardware, helped by a much superior range and quality of apps. Google's efforts on developing android for tablets was too little, too late. However, the Chrome OS is coming along nicely while apple seem to want the new Ipad Pro to become a Microsoft Surface style laptop (£1,420 for the 512GB model plus £350 extra for a keyboard, really?). So goodness knows where we are headed.
Any recommendations for a budget tablet? Not for gaming just surfing the web.
Wouldn't recommend this, performance was horrible, even scrolling through the UI was laggy.

The screen, although high resolution, looked nowhere near decent and lowest brightness setting was still too bright for night viewing.
