I was gonna post this a few days ago but refrained. Good deal if you need one but since so few games actually use it and the new 3DS is around the corner there's a good chance the price of these will fall through the floor pretty soon.

This is from ShopTo, for anyone curious.

...oh, wait - it says that right next to the link. Never mind!

What games do use it?

if you're playing Monster Hunter 4 when it comes out next year, get this and your life will be so much easier

Also not sure it works with the 3DS XL as it doesn't specify it is compatible with it on the product page and the XL has bigger dimensions than the smaller 3DS, so in theory it wouldn't fit?

I thought the new monster hunter will only be compatible with the 'new' 3ds

Part of what a hardware upgrade means is that Nintendo will begin making games that are optimized for the newer tech. To start, the company said that Xenoblade Chronicles will be exclusive to the new systems—though that's technically a port of a 2010 game. But it's also making all of the new hardware instantly compatible with the NFC tech required to use the Skylanders-style Amiibo figures that the company will be rolling out later this year. Older 3DS models will have to rely on a peripheral to use the figures.

I got one ready for monster hunter 4 as its not coming to wii u

CAN ONLY BE USED WITH THESE GAMES:

Monster Hunter
Dead or Alive
Kid Icarus
Resident Evil
Kingdom Hearts
Metal Gear Solid
Samarai Warriors

works well from what ive read though, heat added.

NIce deal, Heat added

I had the impression it was useable with Mario Kart 7 and that was one of the main reasons many used it? I may be wrong on this thought!?

It doesn't work with DoA. And Kid Icarus support is only for lefty support, not for dual analogue sticks like you'd expect. Here's a list of compatible games from Wikipedia. It's only really worth getting for RE (IMHO).

Monster Hunter 3 G [11]
Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Legacy (Japanese version only)
Resident Evil: Revelations
Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D
Kid Icarus: Uprising
Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance
Dynasty Warriors VS
Nano Assault EX
One Piece Unlimited World RED
Samurai Warriors Chronicles 2nd
Steel Diver: Sub Wars

Thanks for this. I have always been tempted to get one, but considering that I have already finished MG and RE:R there seems little point.

Bought one of these for MH4. Stupid that you even need one but I caved, it is MH after all

Metal Gear is almost unplayable without using the circle pad pro.

If this is for a standard 3ds then my local sainsburys had it for 3 quid last week.
had one before didn't rate it but if u play mh then it might be worth it.

I bought this device a couple of years ago to play Resident Evil Revelation. Its brilliant, really improved the game and a real bargain at this price.

The XL version sure does look really bulky! Bought RE: Revelations and I guess the extra circle pad will help improve the gameplay...
