The unique, enthralling antics and acrobatics of the Cirque Du Soleil are showcased in this surprisingly strong DVD package. And its surprising because it refuses to cut corners. The production values are excellent, the filming is strong, and where with some live show DVDs theres a feeling that its been banged out with little thought, theres no evidence of that here at all.
Its important too, because it allows the focus to be on the quite incredible Cirque Du Soleil. If youre new to them, then theyre a circus company pretty much without parallel. Some of their feats are simply incredible to watch, and while their live shows are clearly the best way to enjoy their work, this DVD set is surely the next best thing. Four shows are included, and while it feels wrong to cite one over the others, the stunning "Alegria" is nonetheless an excellent starting point.

Topped with a terrific, thoughtful musical background, theres an immense amount of entertainment on offer here from Cirque Du Soleil thats light years away from the circuses that happily pitched up around the country over the past decades. That it offers much that all the family can appreciate only adds to the appeal. Heck, even the clowns are actually funny --Jon Foster

Four shows from the Cirque Du Soleil. Includes: 'Alegria', 'La Nouba', 'Dralion' and 'Saltimbanco'.

Excellent reviews on Amazon. My kids love to sit and watch these, keeps them quiet for ages and I get engrossed in it too. Delivery is only £1.24 for the box set, so still good value even if you don't want to make your order up to £15 for free delivery.
Other Cirque du Soleil box sets available as well. One priced at £7.97.

Great Shows. I've booked to see Varakai at the Royale Albert Hall in February after watching these.
But the DVD quality is disappointing, despite some of the shows having been originally filmed in high definition, the transfer is just not very good.
