Why not? They already dispatched it last friday so I might get it tomorrow. Best price I found for the wattage. otehrs offer it cheaper but charge delivery fee & Amazon are the only company I know that send the stock within 24 hours. Play.com are slacking these days

Do not do it ....

The '750W' mean less than quality 400W

why do they say 750w then? isnt that false advertising?? I didnt know there's RMS & PMPO on PSU's too oO

Rubbish manufacturers e.g. ColoursIT (CIT) label their PSUs with peak power.

3/4 of an electric bar fire - for what?

I bought a "silent" CiT PSU for a friend looking for something cheap...it was hilariously loud!

Spend a few quid more and get an Antec psu, something like this.

This '750W' PSU has 2 x 12V rails @ 20A

This Antec, also labelled as 750W : antec.com/Bel…A== has 4 x 25A .

Although the amperes do not simply add up, this Antec is at least twice as powerful as this CIT. I am sure you had good intentions while posting this deal, but buying that kind of PSU is asking for troubles. The main difference between good and bad psu is that the good ones ,when they fail, do not usually take other components with them, the bad ones however may burn you everything including your printer,scanner....or your house

@ PlaneMan
The Antec Basiq is not a powerful line, it's still reliable but office PC market dedicated.
If you do not want to spend a lot and buy a good PSU look for OCZ,Corsair or Coolermaster (GX)

whats the best PSU then around this budget? I got AMD x2 6000+, nVidia GTX 275, 1x DVDRW, 1x 1.5TB HDD, 3x 120mm case fans & x2 140mm fan, then add 2x 360 controllers, powering external HDD's.

Unfortunately OP its one area where you'll struggle to find a real deal. Its the one component above all else where you need quality (a lesson I've learned from personal experience). As previous posters have said, go for an OCZ, Coolermaster, or similar.

+1, defo worth spending more (or getting less wattage per pound) on a branded power supply, power supply more stable, internals more stable, will actually produce the wattage it says. This tells u a bit more of what to look for:

if you really need powerfull PSU dont go for these cheap ones , get Something Like chieftec 750W they are around 100 quid , but quality costs extra.

Cold, Cold, Cold, Cold

From Micro direct
Features.....
4-Pin Molex Peripheral Connectors: x7
SATA Connectors: x2
6-Pin PCIe Connectors: x1
.....

Only 1 PCI-E connector and only 2 SATA connectors. Utter junk, most of the power will be on the +3.3V and +5.0V rails which modern PC's hardly use.

A modern PC needs less than 200W so a good quality 350W - 500W will be more than fine unless you're spending several hundred pounds on high end graphics cards.

As a general rule you should pay at least £10 per 100W, any less as there is something missing.

you could always buy sata or 6 pin PCI-E adapters for cheap.

anyway, How easy will it be for me to return this Amazon if I dont use it?

Cheap power supplies cannot handle high loads; they also do not contain over voltage and over current protection.

This is a decent bet, for similar power rating, modular too, unfortunately its almost 2x the price of the other one. On offer from scan if you go through the today's deals page

A 500W PSU would be OK for that lot...try a PSU calculator yourself:

You can buy cheap converters but that misses the point.

The reason it has so few connectors is that despite the 750W clain it cannot supply enough power at +12V. Connectors are cheap and easy to add at the point of manufacture, if the supply was capable, it would have more.

I was looking for a review for the cooler master 650 GX but only found people ripping it to shreads on forums. they're talking out it like everyones talking about the CiT here.

Do not worry too much, you will be fine. You have 5 years warranty with this Coolermaster and all the essential protecting working. The PSU is decent and it's got 52A @12V which is far more than your system requires .Forum ? Some people will always complain because they would love to see budget products matching performance of those high - end. Ideally, if the deals were available for them exclusively .Well, it's not possible.
