It is only my opinion, but I’d only own a Citizen if it was an Eco Drive. It’s what they do best and you can easily obtain a good one for this much.

i have two citizen analogues that outlasted my ecodrive by a factor of 4 and they cost a lot less, wouldn't buy another ecodrive.
Eco Drive...best watch in the World.
I would rather have the similar looking Accurist made of Titanium which they do £10 cheaper, but I don't know too much about it.

I'm not sure chronograph eco-drives regularly come down as cheap as this but if they were like for like then I would agree an eco is more bang for your buck. One downside to the eco-drive, I have a watch collection which I keep in a dedicated watch box. I took out my eco-drive night hawk a few months ago to wear after it being in there maybe 8 months and it was acting erratically. I couldn't then wear it and had to leave it on the window sill. Luckily after a few days it calmed down and started to work again correctly, but there are many forums that people say theirs never recovered.
Yep, Eco Drive - the watch that never needs a replacement battery except when it needs a replacement battery. I have plenty of Citizen watches - 2 autos, the rest quartz.

Citizen recommended 48hrs in direct sunlight to rectify mine when it happened a few years back, the one I have now I just leave out, it gets enough light to run perfectly.
If you go up to the citizen signature series it’s even more outstanding ..

If they did it without the oversized numbers I’d be on it. Beautiful for the price.
Got my last eco drive from duty free island, less than half of the cost in the UK, delivery was approx 10 days.

Everyone to their own, as you say if it was half price then it might be something to look into, but it's not for me. The savings dont seem to outweigh the risk in getting stung for tax (which should be legally paid anyway), it getting lost in post or not being able to claim off warranty if something goes wrong. Cheapest citizen quartz chrono seems to be £48 plus shipping (plus tax). Had a look at their delivery and tax section see below, this it's pretty obvious that their no tax guarantee is not a guarantee at all and is just a ploy to hopefully avoid the sellers paying the tax (which still doesnt absolve the buyers responsibly to pay it). Had a similar situation with an exhaust I bought for an old motorcycle. Ordered from china, expected to pay the tax, got a bill for holding fee and vat from parcelforce, worked out about £25 cheaper overall. In end had to wait 15 days shipping plus another 4 while Parcelforce sent out a letter saying they had it, had no real way of returning it or guaranteed contact if there were problems, wasnt worth it In my opinion.
