I must ask ..is the sapphire glass the best that is ..? I mean they are …I must ask ..is the sapphire glass the best that is ..? I mean they are just glass .. no ?Thanks

Probably the most desirable watch glass is constructed of either synthetic or genuine sapphire. Generally synthetic sapphire is used. This is constructed of crystalised aluminum oxide and has the same physical attributes as the natural sapphire but without the colouring.. Sapphire rates 9 around the Moh scale, (that’s the measures of relative hardness of materials) and it is just behind diamond which measures 10. Of all of the glass, sapphire crystal is the least prone to shatter or be scratched. Contrary you ought to be more concerned that the watch may scratch another surface! The best way to tell mineral and sapphire glass apart is to try and scratch it, a stainless-steel knife or screwdriver will scratch mineral-glass but not sapphire crystal.
Much better deal than the Casio @ a similar price. Sapphire glass and eco drive make this a far superior watch.

In this instance would the watch come with a guarantee of this? That is, if I challenge people to scratch it with a knife, and it does scratch can I take it back for a refund?
Having looked into this I am not sure it is sapphire despite them saying it is - a google search on the model with the word sapphire in suggests it is mineral only. I can't find another seller listing it as sapphire.

Yes we are. Do you not see this on a weekly basis with any sale?

I think youre right. I'd hold back on this if you are buying due to being sapphire as I too found a few sellers advertising it as mineral glass, not sapphire, so very possible they have got the description wrong.

I don't have a keyword alert for casio or or casio edifice as I have no interest in it.

So I have no interest in your deal and haven't seen it.

I am however hoping to get a good Citizen eco drive watch.

So yes this is useful. I and many others would not have been aware otherwise.
This one seems odd - a world time design but chronograph?

And no radio controlled time...
It's looks exactly like model no AT0365-56E-SET, which is advertised as having sapphire glass
Anyone have £25 voucher 🤭
Also you can nab another 10% of if you have a Pocket Prepay Mastercard (Amongst other store discounts0
It’s mineral glass
Great post Op. The head is saying no but my finger is clicking away.
I spoke to Citizen Customer Services and to determine glass face material they would need the case number not just model number but she went on to say all but one of their watches (slim ladies watch) would state sapphire on the case if included, so this is probably mineral crystal.
A bit misleading of samuels to state Sapphire in the description though.
If its a deal breaker they will accept store return upto 30 days after delivery.

Excellent watch with sapphire crystal - have some heat

It's pretty unlikely to be sapphire though - all the Citizen watches I've seen at this £100-£300 price range are mineral crystal rather than sapphire crystal.

Sapphire Crystal:

Sapphire Crystal is preferred in the luxury watch segmentSapphire Crystal is much more costly then the other forms of crystalSapphire Crystal is extremely strong and scratch resistantGenerally can only be scratched by another Sapphire Crystal or DiamondSapphire Crystal is not a traditional gem and is synthetically made in a lab.General price to replace is around $85-$125
Flame Fusion:

The preferred method used to create Sapphire Crystal The process fuses aluminum oxide particles by sprinkling it through an oxyhydrogen flame, hence the term Flame FusionSapphire Crystal treated this way is extremely strong and scratch resistant but also has the ability to withstand cracks and breakageDifferent companies employ different adjustments in this area. Not all techniques are the same, but the general processes are very similar as compared to the end results
Mineral Glass Crystal:

Mineral Crystal is more highly preferred in the mid-price watch segmentMineral Crystal is not as costly as a Sapphire CrystalMineral Crystal is actually an ordinary Glass Crystal that is heat or chemically treated to withstand scratchesThe middle of the road option. Not as scratch resistant as a Sapphire Crystal but is much more resistant to scratches as compared to plastic or acrylicMineral Crystal looks just like a Sapphire Crystal so the Visual aesthetics are similarThe Mineral Crystal can be chipped or broken if it is bluntly hit at an angleGeneral price to replace is around $50-$85
Plastic Crystals:

Often referred to as Acrylic, Plexiglas or Hexalite CoversPlastic Crystals are a preferred option for the low end watch segmentPlastic Crystals are the cheapest option for watch makersPlastic Crystal is lightweight, durable and shatter resistantPlastic Crystal scratches easilyGeneral price to replace is around $15-$30
My later post pointed out it isn't sapphire - the advert is wrong
Thinking of getting this.. would anyone suggest this??? I'm looking at an Armani AR2448 also and can't decide between the two:/
Can someone confirm who's bought one if they model no is AT0365-56E-SET which does show as sapphire?
Change title lol - it's not sapphire crystal??
If it's sapphire crystal it will say so on case back. Attached picture is AT0365-56E, see 'sapphire' on left side of picture

Too bad, would have been very good value if it had a sapphire crystal. The face looks near identical to the AT0365-56E but it must be a slightly lower model.
This is an absolute steal
