I thought this was a cracking price for what looks like a cracking game. Civ V was only released 6 days ago, but Amazon are already selling it for £24.99 instead of the RRP of £39.99.

good price for the game, but read some reviews before you buy it. People are saying its quite buggy. voted hot though

Cheaper elsewhere, inc The Game Collection and 365 games.

Yes, it is very buggy, but worse than this is that its a **** game. If you are a civ fan, stay away to avoid major disappointment - its been dumbed down to appeal to a broader audience and seems to have taken a leaf from the console version, Revolutions. Its also now a STEAM b?tch so you cannot sell the game on after realising you made the mistake of buying it. Save your money everyone.

Same price as they were asking for the pre-order. In other words, not changed.

No deal - same as pre-order as already posted ...

Give it a week and it will be sub-£20

100% agree, total disappointment.

It's no surprise they released such a restrictive demo given how quickly the game's flaws become evident when you play the full game.
Thanks to Skid Row I was able to discover the game was crap before opening my pre-order.
Have since returned it for a refund.

Whilst £39.99 was the RRP - nobody has yet sold it at that price.

The next most expensive was Steam itself at £29.99, so a fiver off is lovely but not fantastic - especially if you need to play it NOW and can pay the extra fiver to do so.

Civ V itself, however, is as buggy as has been said. It's nowhere near as indepth (or perhaps even as fun) as Civ IV and it DOES seem as if it's been tailored more to those few gamers who don't quite have the intelligence for the Civ games - to widen their market.

The one saving grace however, is that there ARE modders out there working on mods to get the game to how it should be. So if you have bought it on release (like me!) just hang on a little bit and grab some of the mods when they're out.

How exceptionally insulting. I've been a Civilization fan since the first on the Amiga and have to say that this is no worse than any of the previous iteration's launch candidates.
