You must be thinking of a different Civilization game, number 5s been out since September and the cheapest i've seen this go prior to this is £19.99

Good game.. but badly bugged.

i grabbed it for 3 different pc's

good game but took up a LOT of my time, luckily i weaned myself off it, and onto COD: black ops.. doh!

Waited ages before I bought this because of the bad reviews - but I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. Admittedly it does go back to basics in some respects, but it feels like a more solid & strategic game than Civ IV. A couple of proper add on packs will hopefully come eventually out to build on a very good foundation.

I had such high hopes for this game and it's definitely the biggest let down I've ever had with a game. It's nowhere near as good as Civ IV. Fair enough, the fighting part is a breath of fresh air but it's not as good. But the worst thing is that it's sooo slow! It's not even worth a £1 as far as I'm concerned.

Everyone else on Amazon agrees. 91 reviews at 1 star out of 5 which is bad considering there are only 227 reviews in total:

I'm not saying you're wrong about the game, but Amazon is one of the worst sites for customer reviews.

A good example is MMO games. Pretty much every MMO on there gets slated by idiots who buy one without even reading into the subs.

its a good game, but highly addictive

Brilliant game. Best one since Civ 2 for networks. If the game seems slow you need to change the game pace.

This version also works on mac, despite the box cover. Just register with Steam using the code in the box, and download the mac client.

Anyone know if this also has the mac version on the disk?

Great price, but I really haven't devoted enough time to my recently purchased Civ IV yet.

Good game, good price, I think it's the best Civ since Civ 2, it is a bit simplified, taking out the micro amnagement, no unit stacking, which stops those ridiculous huge armies on one square, that you had in previous versions and the social/political/cultures are now alot more useful and less restrictive. I'm not sure why people say it is too slow, I found it alot faster than previous Civ games.

Just to let people know, it's the same price @ Amazon. Thanks to the OP for the headsup on price, but I'll probably order it from there. Voted hot though! :-)
