I moved to Clacton about a year ago and have been visiting this cinema constantly. It's £2.50 per ticket monday-friday and £3.50 at the weekend. I actually know people who come from miles around just to see films here as it's so cheap.

There are 2 screens - one is small but one is enormous and has digital projection / surround sound etc - all the usual things. No 3D but you can't have it all I guess.

We used to holiday in Jaywick......8)
one of the many benefits of living in Clacton On Sea. this cinema will soon be "under threat" from a six screen cinema being built 3 miles out of town.

If the one being built out of town charges normal cinema prices then I don't think Century Cinema has much to worry about. It's by far the cheapest cinema for hundreds of miles around.
Jaywick Sands The worst place in England, I used to have to work there a few years ago, a total dump/slum/pit/karzi full of the very lowest forms of human life.
Can also be used with meerkat movies if you have it, so two tickets for £2.50, and they show current films too.
My sister goes to this cinema all the time and we were both brought up in Jaywick. Both good places and recovering from the recession that has his most uk seaside towns really. Worth a try and the cinema shows great films. Martian on Monday for £2.50 was amazing.
Used to be the Mecca I think. Fond teenage memories in screen 2! Heat added for the memories!

Totally agree, although we live in Brightlingsea, means we can take the 4 kids to tge cinema for £15! Just out of interest, where is this new cinema being built? Not that I will be using it when Century is so cheap and a much more pleasant experience than most of the big chains!

It's supposed to just out of town at the Shopping Village. However, they're have been so many false starts revamping that area that I would be surprised if anything happens anytime soon.
