been looking on line they sell about £19.00 so this is cheap

I can see myself coughing and the PS3 being switched off, right at the end, as I've just beaten the final boss and about to collect the platinum trophy.
I'm still going to buy one to try though.

These sound activated devices never work imo.

I couldn't think of anything more pleasurable than my lights randomly turning off and on again.

you could also put battery chargers in it and then clap to tun it off

You could stick your fingers in it and clap to...oh no wait that wouldn't work.

Bit of a gimmick but at least there isn't a battery to drain. Anyone remember whistling to find your key ring?

LMAO.. Classic xmas present that.. Fun for hours..

How cool is that? Excellent. Shame I cant find a 99p shop - we only have the more upmarket Poundland :-D

Duplex the Movie comes to mind..........:)

I am sure eldery and disabled people dont think of this as a gimmick, and they are great if your socket isnt easily accessable.
I wonder if it works when the dog barks? lol

It's not an opinion if they do or don't, surely?

Right just had a thought this says that it turns things off.... so you still have to turn them on in the first place then ? which means if you can turn them on you can turn them off cant you? just a thought

we used to have a clap operated lamp that we bought from a shopping channel, the bloody thing never worked when you clapped but we used to be plunged into darkness everytime my hubbie farted loudly.

Find this to be a really funny little gadget. When the folks come round for prayer meeting and start the singing and clapping, Shame the lights will go out though as I'd love to see their faces immediate it happens!! Would only get a reactionwhen the meeting comes to an abrupt end.
But only a thought as none of these stores nearby.

could get annoying if you have your telly plugged into one & watching a show with a tv audience :-D

Good for seance nights with a ouija board.

A few possible scenarios: too tired to get up again; the person that turned them on has left the room; you only have to turn it off, rather than on then off which cuts out half the work; you're too drunk to get up again.

what if you only have one arm

Find someone else who also has one arm - hi-five.

I prefer the RC remote sockets as they usually control 3 or 4 plugs - impossible with these as if you had more than one and clapped...!

But the remotes are always small and easily lost (esp in the dark) - it's very unlikely that you'd lose the ability to clap...

i like the idea of three high 5s....it promotes team work. Ideal for an office environment!!

Yes, I suppose as you get older your socket does become more inaccessible, ahem... :whistling:

Will it work on the wife? ;-)

Yep your correct .....any noise (from TV etc) that's loud enough or close to the frequency WILL turn it OFF and ON ......:?

Note this can only handle UP TO 400 Watts....so be aware what your plugging into it......if u search google some folk said these have been known to CATCH FIRE !! :w00t:
