Home Bargains (in-store) has something very similar (not the same brand/model) for just £5.99, if your local store has stock.
Lidl/Aldi do one of these on a regular basis cheaper

I don't think they have the wireless transmitter though.

Good find. Don't know how you can compare it with other makes. They all have different sensors and display the information in different ways. If this was an Apple Nano, you wouldn't say, I saw a Sansa Clip cheaperoO
The description also says, "unit tells you the temperature indoors and outdoors, gives you a humidity reading and displays barometric pressure via a remote exterior sensor." In fact the remote unit just sends outside temperature and humidity to the base unit.
Similar to the £4.99 from Play in early November; if it's anywhere near as good as that it's worth having. I can see the temp in the room I'm in, while keeping an eye on the temp in another room - great for making sure the radiator controls are balanced ok, as well as showing accurate time.

Except this one has a lot more features such as a barometer.
Doesn't seem great, there was one not long ago on Play for £5 that had all the features this has, and was really pretty well made to boot...
Was and is are two different things. Find one as good at this price
I've not been able to find one cheaper, --- today--- but I did find a manual for it.

Very comprehensive spec imo. Not many of these, at this price, have temperature alarms and a forecasting chip. They usually display real time information and the user interprets that.
I have an Oregon Scientific which cost me 4 or 5 times this about 5 years ago, and a hand held unit for travelling, neither off which have as many features as this model.

That one didn't have a barometer or humidity readings, but apart from that it is exactly the same.... (_;)
Ah fair play, it doesn't have either on the display you're right, however the unit does contain a barometric pressure sensor which is used for the weather forecast I guess! Only bought it for hacking...
Wow, this truly is a waste of money. I have windows and the weather news in the tv that does this for free!!
I bought two of these - one for the mother as a christmas present, and one for the desk at work.
For the money they are very decent indeed - very well put together with a good solid feel. The external sensor does report barometric pressure as well as temp and humidity.

If you want a desktop station, these are as good as they get without wind speed/rainfall and PC connectivity. If you want those then keep an eye on Maplin.
