its like they have a line of cheap shoes that look a little like hush puppies which they put the price up on occasionally which are then only bought by the gullible, then they drop then down to a "sale" price so we numpties all lap them up and realise that on this occasion, you do get what you pay for.

Unfortunately, all Clarks shoes seem to be of pretty abysmal quality these days.

I was searching for deals on these shoes because of the hundreds of great reviews, so someone may still benefit from these comments. You must have got a bad batch. Doesn't make the shoe terrible, or everyone who repeat buys them is wrong. Your opinion is valid, but experience appears to be in the minority, and I wanted to balance it. I use this site as much for opinions on products as i do a deal finder. Thanks for returning to the dead post though.

....... erm, right OK. Not sure what your point is. I said your experience is valid but appears to be in the minority, but you keep coming back for more as if yours is the only opinion that should matter. Shall we just leave it, thanks.
I'm on my fourth pair of these and they are great, lasting well over a year before wearing out. Since I started wearing them three or four of my colleagues at work have also bought them and no-one has had any issues. You have to take care of them - use renovating cream, let it soak in overnight, buff off and then polish with regular wax before the first time you wear them - and then keep them clean and polished from then on, including the welts. What, you mean you didn't do that, Bouncy 99? D'oh!!!
Also, I put top quality insoles in them - Superfeet - £30 a pair and worth every penny. So, although no shoes are perfect, these are pretty close. Have you thought about trading in your feet for another pair?
