No, you will need disc specific forks for these.

No these will not fit without upgrading forks and frame....ie dont bother; only any use if you have mechanical discs already

Also please be aware, even if you have mechanical disc brakes, you may have to mod the frame. This is because some of the mounts on the frame maybe solid. As these clarkes cables are pre bled and ready to go, you cannot just feed the cable through, as they are sealed. Cable ties may be needed to secure onto the mounts.

Like others have said it's not currently compatible and although disc brake conversion kits exist it would start to cost the same as the price of your bike.

Heat for these though. Seriously no point in bleeding brakes anymore when you can get the whole thing (assume comes with pads) for under £20 a brake. The environmental cost is higher though but I've justified that in the past by giving away replaced bits to my local bike works / social enterprises.

I have the same bike. I went with avid bb7 (bit more expensive but they just need setting up once and forgetting about, £50 for the front and back with new rotors is quite possible). So long as your cables aren't too mangled you can even escape needing to change them (just maybe need a pack of the cable end covers).
This deal is brake levers too which you probably don't need/want to change.

Would any bike people know if this would fit a 2005 Kona Dew Deluxe? bikepedia.com/Qui…uxe

Many thanks.

Good brakes but not as good as Shimano in my opinion, plus the shimano are easy to bleed. Heat added for the price

Unless the link is showing the wrong bike, these brakes wouldn't fit as that Saracen is a road with drop bars - these brakes would only fit a bike with flat bars.

These are mechanical disk brakes, not hydraulic. So... they don't need bleeding

As for mech vs hydra... the avids don't need much tweaking, not sure about these. It IS one advantage of hydraulic, I guess. Once set there's no cable stretching or similar.

Anybody know how these would rate against Hayes hfx-9.

I haven't used my bike for a few years but was kept indoors.
all the brake fluid seems to have come out around the seals
on the levers and they have no pressure, so prbs need a rebuild or seal
kit or something.

Tempted to just replace with these but not sure if the Clarks are better
worse etc, lost touch with the MTB scene.

These are hydraulic brakes, not mechanical, so wouldn't fit the Saracen bike, unless they want two sets of brake levers.

Thanks OP. Did not buy the brakes but bought some other accessories as a present .
Free delivery is over £25 otherwise another fiver for dely.

You may be better off wth the shimano for £17.50 a front or back
on Merlin cycles, if your rotors are still in good nick

Lol just spotted that now, thought they were hydraulic

I... don't know how I missed that these were hydraulic. My bad!

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR POSTING! Just got me one set, might get another for my partner's bike. Chain Reaction had the same deal but are sold out. Good find, exceptional value
