Would rather not if they have shoes like this. Shoes for trainspotters
Talking shoes!
Sandi Toksvig wears these bad boys.
Dr Dre wears the Compton ones

On the basis a stranger says his boots (no particular model) are going strong you are going to pop in? If he had said they fell apart after 6 weeks, would you have said I will avoid then?

That's how advice works.

For what it's worth, I have two pairs of Clarks myself (boots and more casual) and they have been serving me well for more than 5 years. I only needed to change soles on my boots once. I did retire them recently, to get something new, but they are still completely fine and waterproof as the day I bought them.

I've found Clark's shoes to be very poor quality these days, the gum rubber sole wears very quickly. The sandals I had were very uncomfortable. I will not be buying this brand again.

I'm always happy with Clark's. Out of curiosity, what would you buy instead in similar price bracket?

I have been buying Merrell shoes which are more sporty but superior quality, otherwise I'm resoling shoes with decent uppers with Vibram sole units.
Bought a pair of these from Clark's recently for work. Quite comfortable
I looked at these in store. Don't get these if you're clumsy like me. Soft leather, scratches easy. And the sole is not the thickest, you'll feel the little stones you step on for sure.

The grip/ sole & leather, and general quality of the Atticus Vibe shoes, and Atticus Cap is amazing though. I saw and tried them in store, also on sale at moment. Them I can see lasting for years

Avoid the white soles and soft leather if you want a long lasting shoe
