Interestingly some of the prices seem to have increased suddenly!! I’m sure some of these shoes were cheaper before even when you vector in the latest price with the 20% off!

A brand with a long history that needs to apply some modern thinking. Was pointed out last year and still not changed their attitude

Newsflash - boys generally do like football and girls generally do like rabbits.

Perhaps Clarks are less concerned with pandering to PC than they are with producing styles that they can actually sell in significant quantities.

'Interestingly' some of the prices are the same as they were before this offer started. I was looking at a pair of boots the other day which were £40 but I didn't go for them, as soon as I got the email about 20% off I checked to see if they were still there and they were. So I got them for £32 which I am really pleased about.

I wonder whose comment was most interesting, I think they're both pretty lame to tell you the truth.

To be fair I did say “some” and not all!
Oh. I misunderstood. You have to add code TREAT for the 20% off.

Not to worry. Dont really have the time to get into a debate about pc/nanny state/lefties/brexit or whatever youd blame next. But kids generally like football and kids generally like rabbits yeah? So roll with that and see if you can work the rest out for yourself...
unlucky for me. just feckin ordered yesterday, however quick look and no longer in stock....
dunno if that's good or bad.

OK I think I get how it works... adults generally like high heels, strappy shoes and open toed mules, but adults also like oxfords and boat shoes so the 'mens' and 'womens' sections are pointless too?

No thats not the point at all. Are you interested in learning or just bored and trying to entertain yourself?

If its the former and you have a spare 30 mins try this...

Go into any of the shoe descriptions. Read the boys trainer description about being a rugged tough character with a great desire for fun. Then go to any girl shoe...even an equivalent everyday shoe...and compare. Its normally something along the lines...'your fluffy wuffy little pwincess will adore the cutey wutey wabbits in her sparkley shoesies'. Obviously not quite that blantant. But thats the subtleties of reinforcing stereotypes at any early age...why lewis hamilton got grief for his nephew in a dress. Why girls can have a football trainer...hell, lets have a unisex shoe department where the football trainer description says your child could harness his inner Messi or her 'insert top female footballer here (shoulda done my research).

You can keep your mens and womens sections. That is entirely not the point so shoehorning in a bad sarcastic example doesnt add to debate. Nor contradict the fact Clarks have been busted for it before...and recognised their failings THEMSELVES and said they were gonna cut it out.

Peace. Take it easy

In all honesty it was more the second category

"Modern thinking" = no commonsense?

vector arithmetic is always a bit tricky;-)
Clarks have gone down-hill over the past 10 years, in my estimate. Been buying various shoes and boots from them over the years, and some are just not up to daily use. Shoes and boots with cleated soles that are slippy on wet pavements, leather that peels at the slightest scuff and can't just be polished up to make it look ok, and soles that Timpsons can't replace for some reason? Factory outlet items seem to the worst.
Everyone going on about kids shoes...
The offer is on adult styles only.
But if you buy kiddy ones too, they'll be shipped free as well.

I've noticed that in recent years as well.

Have a pair of Clarks that I bought in 2001 that are still in great shape.

Bought some Clark's Originals (Desert Boots) which are over priced crap to be honest, in the USA, a couple of years back at a quarter of the UK price levels (£30), wouldn't pay more than £20, being generous, for them.

Bought two sets of Clark's shoes about a year ago from the UK outlet and one set went back, they were just cheap crap with a Clark's label on them! The other pair I kept but were not even worth the asking price of £12.99...
