Pleasure, forgot about Quidco so thank you too.

Never been as good since they stopped them being made in GB 80s or 90s.
Hotter shoes far, far, FAR better. AND made in GB

Thanks, unfortunately no sale on the kids' section

Yes found that a bit odd, no kids sale! Just suggest you keep your eyes peeled, hopefully not far away from kids offers. Thats why I use Clarks as well for kids shoes.

All depends what you want them for.
Timings important too with Hotter.
The boots are great. I've had their "Viking" Gore-tex boots for work for 5 years and they're as good as ever (even with my crappy feet and ankles -- after 3 operations they're worse than ever ! X)) They tend to do summer/spring selections and winter types and have a clearance sale twice a year which is always worth dropping in for (theres a Hotter store in Newcastle tho' 80% of the shoes are for women)
They're expensive but VERY comfortable, and last forever it seems. I got my father in law into them and he won't buy any other now

Oh, and thanks, leather. Been on the lookout for some cheap, work shoes.

Just went on the Hotter Shoes website, yes some great bargains to be had there, not.

Great deal OP, I find it funny when people say this isn't as good as it used to be and stuff like that - yes we get it, you're old.

Thanks

I used to like the old days as a child, try the clarks shoes, and stand on the machine that x-ray your feet, to see if you had room in them. I do not think those machines would be legal now.

Cheers me dears!

I now avoid clarks, their shoes are of the same quality as much chaper chinese junk... weird.. because they used to be excellent!

Was there any need to post this? Now I really want the £30 pair of shoes that I can't really afford...AHHHHHHHH. HUKD you strike again.

Quality of Clarks is terrible. For real quality get Cheaney, Loake, Trickers, Grenson etc and expect to pay more. Clarks is just cheap throw away, rubbish same as Tesco, M&S et al.

Re Clarks quality:
The comments here would have been correct for this time last year. BUT... this has changed I think over the last 12 months. I recently revisited Clarks store and found the quality of the shoes to be much better. Pop in your local one and see what you think.
Of course, you can get better quality by paying more but Clarks has raised their game!

I recently bought 4 pairs from a Clarks outlet which had some cracking deals, worth a visit if you have one nearby...

A little advice - Look at Clarks Desert Boots. I didn't know until recently that Clarks are world renowned for making desert boots. You will see them recommended on many fashion blogs. Also look at their wingtip brogues which are also very nice..

I bought a pair of shoes last week on their birthday sale, no free shipping, but those shoes(along with many others) aren't even showing on their website today(not even as being out of stock - just vanished)

Shoes are good quality BUT Hermes.......................god I hate that company. Bought Friday morning and website still says "Order Placed" God damn, cheap and useless couriers.

which clarks are good for blokes with slightly narrow feet.

You'd be lucky to get standard size leather shoes for 22 quid never mind size 13. I'm assuming you've tried the shipyard?

Just be careful, found the same 'sale' shoes cheaper from their outlet site, before accounting for the fact there is currently a 20% code available for outlet (ends today), stackable with 10.5% TCB

I used to absolutely adore Clarks Desert Boots.
The quality nosedived after closing the British factory, build quality was atrocious.
I noticed they'd started making them again, but suspicious that they're any better.
Stilll.....if, as you say the quality control in the Far East has improved from zero to actually checking them....
After a quick check, one caught my eye. It was £100.
If I was paying that much, I'd still be buying from Hotter. British made and proven quality

Many thanks for this heads-up - Didn't even realise that Clarks Outlet was online, never mind the additional TCB - which has just worked for me.

I don't need any more shoes

Stupid site, selected my size, then I look at those brown Gatley Tan Leather shoes, guess what, they have size 6.....Excuse me while I saw off half my feet...

made in India not even close to worth even the sale price, as for the RRP price £90 for slip on shoes, an absolute joke!
