As shown on BBC Watchdog 28 November 2018 when Watchdog reported on problems with disintegrating Clarks shoes. Rubbish shoes - they just disintegrate, rot and fall apart. Check your wardrobes - yours may well be rotting too. Worse still, Clarks just don't want to offer any reasonable kind of help. Awful company, awful shoes. Cheap, poor quality imports sold at inflated prices:

So why do kids shoes from Clarke’s last almost a year and no other make we have tried do? No denying the watchdog findings, but Clarke’s for kids have their place and these shoes would make perfect school shoes!
When we make a purchase we have to find a sweet point between quality and price, unless you are rich you don’t care about money. Clarks is just such a brand in my opinion. Everyone finds what suits their needs best. I think Clarks suits a vast majority of people if you look at their reviews everywhere. I’d like to know another brand that offers better quality at a cheaper price seriously.

If I remember correctly, it's something to do with the way shoe companies make their soles so that they will degrade easier when put in landfill. If the shoes are left wet and not worn for some time the rubber absorbs it and they can just disintegrate. I have personally had many Clarks shoes with no issue, maybe because I wear mine regularly. Each to their own though.
I get lots ofeveryday shoes from Clark’s and they last very well. I’ve never had any disintegrate??
To those who've had no problems with Clarks shoes: you're lucky.

Thousands of others (quite possibly tens of thousands) have found their shoes, just put away normally, dry, in wardrobes etc, rotting to pieces. This wasn't a made up story. It's all over the internet, Watchdog received a load of complaints, and Clarks offered just a token £10 or so for ruined shoes that often cost ten times that.

It's not just the rotting shoes - it's the appalling way Clarks treated people who were affected. In the UK and across the world. Not a good company to deal with.
