That reason is called marketing.

Coronavirus is very very easy to kill. It requires a very specific conditions to survive such as human to human contact. Outside of the body it really is easy to kill hence the advice to wash you hands and avoid breathing in airborne particles expelled by infected people.

You don't have to breathe it in, the mucus membrane on our eyeballs will do as a receptor for the virus.

I clean my mask and straps with them.
We use these in cardiac surgery to achieve decontamination from human blood specks. They are extremely durable and are approved by hospital infection control committees. I would say they are a bit overkill for coronavirus cost-wise versus dettol wipes. This is perfect for sanitising surfaces of human fluids, but more substantial than saliva. This product is very good and friendly to the skin. FIRE!
