Bought one of these earlier, seems good enough

Bought a few of these last week, the 1.5l is £1.50 if anyone is interested, unfortunately they don't have larger ones, but for the money they are amazing value.

At a guess, something that will go up in smoke.

Remember one of Jeremy Clarkson's documentaries based on Kilner jars.

He means cannabis.

Can't beat proper kilner ones. These leak "alot" is my experience with asda branded ones

Your the man... I mean that is soooooo cool.

Can anyone tell me if these are completely airtight like they should be?
These look like some that I have at home already which are no good for homemade jam or anything that you want to keep for a long time as there's a slight gap in the seal owing to the fact that the lid mechanism doesn't close tightly enough.
If I got one of these I would fill it with water, then leave it upside down in the sink for a while and check whether any of the water leaks out.

why want you want to put cannabis in a glass jar/

something for your friendly police officer to notice when you invite he in for a cup of tea

Not sure if these are the ones I looked at in asda last week, but in the small print on the label on the bottom it said something like "suitable for the storage of dry goods only". Not much use for chutney, so I put them back.

I remember that documentary wasn't it one of his ancestors who and invented or owned the rights to it?

it was 'Who do you think you are?' and his family started the Kilner jar company.

I used some of these jars last Christmas for pickled pears. They turned out not to be airtight. The pears went off. These jars are not suitable for pickles or preserves.

Near identical items in Poundland, for errmm, a pound.

That's exactly what I thought (see my earlier comment).
