This is okay, but in 12 months time you'll need to re-address the encryption issue.

Also the software can be downloaded for free (60 days trial) if you wanted to see it in action.

There is no point to the "free" software, £45 pounds a year!

Try TRUCRYPT, it's free and does all the mod nsa etc styles of encryption, there is also a portable version that can be stored on the portable media itself. I have had no problem with it.

You can either encrypt a whole drive or make "containers" that you mount and then you just see another hdd until you dismount it, there is even a secret version that hides itself within another container! FREE.

Just be careful use a reputable download site like cnet, filehippo or tucows etc

£26.07 is a good price.

£23.99 from Maplins if you collect from store - hotukdeals.com/dea…653

How many usb connections does this have?

I want to use it for a media player which only has 1 USB port

rather pay a bit extra and get something with 1 usb port and it works and has fantastic reviews:

It has two usb connection both of which need to be in for it to work. I bought one from Maplin but had to return it as it does not work with 64bit

nice deal, thanks

not that great paid £50 for a 500gb and there is a larger sized 1tb for £70 on here - my 500gb also only uses one usb - its a freecom and is tiny

the security seems to have some link to the UK government!

I'd avoid this like the plague!

Cheers for that mate, now I can save sensitive data on flash drives and not worry about it getting lost. I even have plausible deniability options. Awesome.
