Co-op Mincemeat (found in Gordon hill coop but apparently nationwide) Best before some time in 2024 so great deal for those who need it this year

    one of these years i'm going to figure out a non-seasonal use for this stuff, buy it all up in january and eat like a king all year.

    You can add it to a baked apple ( microwave even), use in bread pudding and make apple and mincemeat tart x

    I did not really understand as it’s usually £1.70 but is Christmas stock so reduced .

    Does it contain any meat ? Then what type meat ? Sorry noob here..

    no, it's a historical naming holdover. the specific pastry (mincemeat pies) at one point were savoury and came with meat, but gradually they transformed into a sweet dish and had their internals replaced with a filing made of sugar, fruits and spices, but kept the name. thus "mincemeat" refers to the filling.
