Not sure if store specific, local or national, but these are a real tasty bargain. Probably left over from Christmas but within sell by date.

Why wouldn't they be within their sell by date... they arrive frozen and are kept in a freezer and they bake them in the shop

Once baked, they might sit on the shelf, thus not be within their sell by date!

These are instore bakery ones so they have not been baked before xmas. Knowing Co-Op then over allocated stock to the shops so you may see these for a while yet if they have boxes left in the freezer back up (happens most years).

I got some at Kingswood (Bristol) store.

great for a coffee morning

I'm pretty sure the reason the OP mentioned it was because it's quite a while after Christmas now, and I was explaining why they wouldn't be out of date... otherwise you could say the same about all their fresh bakery goods, why would any of them be out of date? They have to sell them the day they bake them or within a couple of days

I disagree, when the OP says this
"Probably left over from Christmas but within sell by date."
I believe he was saying that even those these were meant for xmas, the fact that they are now heavily reduced would lead some to say that it is because of the sell by date.
