Fairtrade filter coffee - A medium blend with a full aroma. 227g. Strength 3, Medium. Suitable for all except pod machines and espresso machines.

Found this in my local Lincolnshire Co-op store (Newark - i know, crazy, we're in Notts lol) together with P.O.S so hopefully its regionwide, if not nationwide.

Its NOT the coffee in the picture, but thats the best representative pic i could find The one on offer is in a brown bag. Not sure on normal price as i hadn't bought it before i saw it on offer, but 227g for £1 is good, especially if its just for the office. We've had it for the last couple of days and its nice, IMHO better than the medium Starbucks stuff.

They have this coffee at the same price in Devon stores, so it looks like it is nationwide. Mind you, as people are always keen to point out, they have 250g packs of Douwe Egberts ground coffee in Poundland.

Gonna be voting COLD on this one as I reckon you'll be lucky if 1p from the sale price reaches its good cause. The cash is probably going to fat cats. Sorry

Fairtrade means the purchase price for the crop is guaranteed & the Co-op also invests in community project, such as water supply, educational equipment and medical facilities.

Profits mainly go to Co-op members & staff

Is it just me, or are you voting cold on quite a lot of posts????? Co-op is probably the most ethical supermarket in the UK so it's hot from me!

I think I preferred the old 'unfair trade' back when British companies used to make more money.
It was better for my pension funds

Nice price for fresh coffee though

Yeah, it's a disgrace the way countries with suitable climates caused the British coffee-growing industry to collapse - I miss seeing those acres of coffee bean plantations in the UK countryside.

You are obviously highly intelligent.

i'll think you find that staff see fudge all of the profits besides a tad above minimum wage.

I think you will find that most staff are members (I am one of them), they get a payout twice a year in vouchers (based on their shopping at the co-op and how the company performs, better the company does, the higher the payout per point) and a cash payment of upto £500 once a year. So why not check your facts first?
