  • Cobra is made from a complex recipe of seven ingredients and then expertly brewed with fewer bubbles to give it a sophisticated taste. Spicy pure hop oil is used to create unique aromas and flavours, whilst lower carbonation delivers a smooth flavour. It is the perfect companion for any dish, from anywhere in the world.

  • Lord Karan Bilimoria founded Cobra Beer in 1989 to create a drink that had the smoothness of an ale and the refreshment of a lager. The Cobra range is brewed with a complex recipe and lower carbonation to perfectly accompany all food.

Its beer, not art.Drink it.

Yet, at some point along the journey to drinking 12 bottles, the bottle does indeed become a work of art. We've all got to that point where we're studying the bottle label like it's a Van Gogh.

Great deal. Voted hot.

Yeah pretty much all of them are now. That said, I do like the flavour of Cobra over most other supermarket lagers, I can't quite put my finger in why. Excellent with a curry either way.
...is it at least 5%?
This beer is super smooth.

Warmth issued.

Kindest regards
Seems to be OOS now.
This used to be one of the best bottled lagers out there when it was 5% IMO. Then they dropped it to 4.5% and its quality decreased, now it's down to 4% I don't think I'll even bother. Does your head in when they mess with and ruin a really good product.

4.5% only realised at check out
Most of the premium beers are below 5% apart from kronenbourg
I used to drink this all the time but its disgusting now since they changed the recipe.
love this stuff
Has anyone tried to see if this is in-store as well? Cheers

Yes I forgot about them and I only drink Efes in Turkey😁
but Heineken's recently switched to bring brewed in UK, don't like the taste any more. San Mig 5%, 10 cans £7

I'm surprised. When I was twice in Turkey over two years, although 10 years ago, Efes was everywhere. That's how I got the bug.
Went and checked big Tesco’s nearby. No sign of it - but there was the x10 san Miguel’s got £7 which another posted mentioned so picked up those.

No, in Chennai.Kindest regards

What I found interesting during my two week trip to India is that this beer was nowhere to be found. Kingfisher only.

Yeah they make it purely for export.

Locals have to import it again for extortionate prices...

I found it once in Mumbai

I always thought the goto Indian lagers were things like Turbo and Knockout or all the other beers of 7 or 8% strength. I was in little India in Singapore recently and they were all available along Haywards 5000 and others I can't remember now.
Thanks for posting @coneto we have added this to today's Highlights page
Well I'm on 11th bottle and I'm writing this so won't be buying this again good job I bought a couple of san megaul too innit

Aye, they changed it originally to 4.8, then down to 4.5, my mistake

Can’t remember where I first heard or read this, but I thought Cobra was brewed for the Uk curry restaurant market. It is less gassy then most lagers - the idea being that it doesn’t fill you up as much, so you buy more food. Not for a more sophisticated taste as the marketing blurb in the OP says
rosstheboss197220/09/2019 22:19

Has always been marketed as "authentic Indian beer". However a tv show about misleading consumers a few years ago (something like Watchdog) identified that it was brewed in UK. Cobra say it uses the "authentic Indian recipe" however. Either way on your feelings about that, is a nice smooth quality beer. A steel at this deal price IMHO. On another note, the Cobra Zero (0% alcohol) is an award winning beer, and surprisingly good. Heat for OP.
