Great price, nice find
Looks like a cock up @ your store. Have some heat with your Coco Shreddies
Scan your receipt on the Topcashback app to get 50p back. Makes it 7p a box!
You shouldn't have settled for the manager reducing them. You should have mentioned their 'Double the Difference' policy where if you are over charged you get DTD back and get to keep the item. So you were overcharged £1.72 per box X3 = £5.16, double that and you should have been paid £10.32 to take them away and kept them too.

I only recently learned about this policy myself from MSE.

Even so, it's still a great deal.

Damn! hadn't thought of that love it!
Apologies for my harshness/bluntness rastbury.
I came back to edit my previous comment as you can only mention their DTD policy to them if you know about it in the first place but like an idiot I assumed everyone knew about it (except me, I only found out about it recently)

What I should have started my post with was, Next time this happens remind them of their DTD policy....etc etc

I never get DTD at my store... most times they argue that the price was an accident and the full price is what it should be and I was charged correctly... Tesco sucks lately with customer service.

This is so wrong it is untrue. Get your facts right. They don't "have to" do anything.

My local store is good at following the DTD policy so never had to do this but it's mentioned on MSE that if your store doesn't follow the policy you should call head office and complain, they should then send you a giftcard for the DTD amount you should have been given.
oh dear ... looks like I got it wrong. Sorry rastbury ... I hope I haven't angered u as much as Simo's boiling up. Being my third ever comment I didn't think I'd get crucified for not fully researching my answer! Scared to come back now.

no worries, i think legally they don't have to do anything. but its a very grey area.. just act peeved off enough and they will sort you out.
Loving the courtesy on this thread!
I think the link shows quite clearly the answer to whether it is a local mess up or a national one. Won't stop another 1 store only deal going mega hot.

Boss was stood at the shredder looking confused, asked me if I could work the machine, I put the document in. He said great, I just need 5 copies.

Needless to say, I don't eat Shreddies any more.
Something odd going on with their Nestle cereals - Choc n Roll priced up at £1.84 recently when they're normally £2+ and when it was scanned came up with 67p! Perhaps they contain a certain equine-imity?! (not going to say the h-word or I'll be banned...) (_;)
Just been to Tesco, Gorton and got some Krave Chocolate Hazelnut 650g for £1.25 - labelled up as £2.45 Krave Deal

The point being made is that as a retailer they are not obliged to contract with anyone they don't want to. It is you that makes the offer to buy at the price on the shelf and it is they who accept the offer, no-one is obliged to accept an offer if they wish not to.
