Cocteau Twins albums are rarely on sale at these kind of prices, and 'Blue Bell Knoll' is one of their best (probably second only to 'Treasure').

Details:
After the airiness of VICTORIALAND, BLUE BELL KNOLL, the Cocteau Twins' fifth album, returns them to the swirling ethereality of earlier collections. Anchoring the interplay of Elizabeth Fraser's vocals and Robin Guthrie's effects-treated guitars with drum machine patterns and stronger bass lines makes for somewhat more traditional songs, and also frees them--"Suckling the Mender" even has room for two glittering guitar solos.
Standout tracks include "Carolyn's Fingers", featuring Elizabeth Fraser's voice pining and sweeping over a shuffling beat, the slow-paced "For Phoebe Still a Baby", dedicated to Fraser's unborn child, that adds a xylophone in the mix, and "Spooning Good Singing Gum", bedecked with Guthrie's echoing, multi-tracked guitars. As good as these cuts are, however, the best of the bunch are the album's last two tracks, "A Kissed Out Red Floatboat", and "Ella Megalast Burls Forever". Alone, either would justify the price of admission, but together they make this, out of many great Cocteau Twins albums, one of the best.

*I know nothing about them so please do not shoot me for linking this

Cico Buff....a classic song :-D

Personally speaking, I think "Heaven Or Las Vegas" and "Head Over Heels" are their strongest albums, followed closely by "Treasure" and "Blue Bell Knoll"

I have Head Over Heals on vinyl, never listened to Heaven or Las Vegas. 'Treasure' was always considered their biggest album back in the late 80's if I remember.

Another good band that 4AD released was This Mortal Coil. They were a coalition of band on the 4AD label which included the Cocteau's. Can highly recommend the album 'It'll End In tears'.

If you are still liking Cocteaus, then I would recommend you check out Heaven Or Las Vegas for sure!

Already have "It'll End In Tears", being a huge Cocteaus fan, owning everything and knowing about all the side projects there is very little I don't know about them

Do you know if '16 days gathering dust' was ever released on a Mortal Coil album? I have the 16 min long 12" single (with Song to a Siren on side B), and oh how I would love to find a copy of that on CD......

No, sadly not, it apparantly was released for a limited time on itunes, thats the only digital copy.

Doing a little bit of google searching and you should at least be able to obtain an mp3 of it though.
