Sublime.
One of the greatest female singers ever.
Fabulous album and absolute bargain. Have all they released, they were amazing.
Great price if you don't mind that it says "Usually despatched in 1 to 3 months"

Just had a quick look on Discogs - this is a bargain!
Undoubtedly a bargain. However....I was a huge fan in the early 80s, and was excited to revisit having not really played them since then....I can see why. It's pretty pretentious nothingness. Obviously as a sporty oik I convinced myself that it was clever and arty. In hindsight it's just tosh.

Hahahah !!!!

Totally disagree old bean.

Sounds like you've convinced yourself of that "narrative."

Heaven or Las Vegas is my favourite. Heavenly!!
Oh but is this one pressed off the Guthrie butchered remasters??

Do your homework chaps!

Why would I? I put this album on Spotify for a listen before buying it and just though na. Most of the stuff I liked in the 80's stands the test of time, The Cocteau Twins, I'm afraid for me doesn't. On the bright side I've got about £200 worth of vinyl I can sell and buy some Fontaine's DC, Big Thief & Protomartyr records
mine is arriving tomorrow 28th
:-)

Why would music you previously enjoyed “not stand the test of time” ..?

The music is the same, the change occurred in your head old bean..

And I think you’ll find the Cocteau Twins are still highly revered by people who haven’t repositioned themselves ...

Yes the production is of the time, but the recordings are timeless

I find pretentiousness to spawn from a need to tell all ‘ones taste in music’ has ‘advanced’

I love 95% of the records I bought as s teenager, starting with 2-tone and through punk ( a bit retrospectively) indie and on to American skate/thrash and grunge. I can play most of these records now and like them as much as when I was 17.I was going to buy this record to "bookend" my Cocteau twins collection, but listened on Spotify band though "what am I doing...this is pretentious rubbish". There's some stuff in my collection I've replayed recently and frowned slightly but still "got' why I liked it 35 years ago. But the Cocteau Twins? I was 17, starting uni and they seemed to be everbodies favourite band. Fortunately the Smiths came along .
Anyway just spent my £50 Amazon voucher on Tacocat, Amyl and the sniffers, mammoth penguins and Girl Band vinyl. Maybe in 35 years time I'll think " jeez that Girl Band , what a racket". More likely be dead
