Col De Turini Braus Road Bike £180 + del @Sports Direct

My first post. I know buying bike from SD may not be to everyone's taste. Have been looking for my first road bike being on a budget.

Seems Carrera Zelos and Triban 3 are hard to come by anymore. I am not sure how Col De Turini compares in terms of quality, but at £120 less it seems a bargain.
Use VCLOUDFEB10 (courtesy of user domchalk) for 10% off bringing it down to £180 + del.

OP - I think if you do begin to enjoy road cycling, then you will become unsatisfied with this bike pretty quickly. You get what you pay for.
"I am not sure how Col De Turini compares in terms of quality" - it wont compare.
"but at £120 less it seems a bargain" - it will be a waste of money

Keep searching for a Triban 3, they had loads of the older models in the Warrington store serveral weeks ago, all at the discounted price, and I am sure there are plenty of the Carrera options... and if they haven't got them, hold on and wait for new stock.

They win points for the bike name, who thought it up? Fabio Mourini Bamaladadadad?
If you are starting out you are best off spending the same money on a used bike on ebay/gumtree. Give it a quick service and away you go.

From my experience buying a cheap bike like that is more likely to put you off road biking.

Just search for used bikes near you and the read user reviews.

I looked over a couple of weeks and got myself a previous season Genesis bike ridden literally twice for £220 which was still in the evans sale for £500.

I am now loving road biking and racking up the miles.
Good luck with your searching, hope you get the bug :-)
Agree it's better to look online and buy a better quality second hand one
definitely put the £200 towards a second hand bike, will get you a lot more bike for your buck
agree with other posters, buy 2nd hand. I picked up my 1st road bike (specialized allez) for 200 and serviced it for 30. sold it on for the same once I was ready to upgrade. that bike new is circa 550. Most 2nd hand road bikes are also well loved by their owners
buy 2nd hand. this is made of poor quality materials and the cheapest possible components. it will break. your local bike shop will tell you it is uneconomical to repair. it will become landfill.
This is not a bike.......
