Fantastic, thank you, been looking at going but was put off by the £60 or so cost, will be booking.
Thank you ;-)

Was just about to change up my Tesco vouchers!
Don’t live too far away and this place is normally mega bucks, so good deal!
And children price,? Hope it's not more than the adult price
Great deal, will be booking
Took advantage of this today, what a deal, can't recommend it enough, the place is huge, spent 6 hours there and could have carried on, loads to see and do! Heat added
Not a huge saving if children are same ticket price

Great find was only thinking earlier today that it’s been a while since we’ve been there
Not sure the animals will come out in the winter but worth a crack especially the feedings which are amazing fir young kids to actually feed a giraffe or elephant.
I really like Colchester zoo and even booked a yearly pass for the family a few years back and it was well worth it (visited maybe 6/7 times in the year).

Yes, they do, they were all 'out' today except for one I can't remember that you go past on the little land train. Some weren't outside but were in their enclosures inside. Giraffe and Elephant feedings carried on, I think it was only the Penguins what weren't around.
Being set round and round and round and round by their website. All I want to know is how much a child ticket is? Can someone help.

Details here: Open Ticket Prices

It's a saving of £7 per child and £14 per adult so a pretty good saving on their price and also on other Zoos not too far away.

Just to clarify the above that's on their Open Ticket price, on February day dated e-tickets it's a saving of £1.89 per child and £5.30 per adult. So not as bigger saving but still not bad as for a family of 4 that could save just over £14

The website states

This open dated ticket allows 1 adult entry to Colchester Zoo for 1 visit within 12 months of the original purchase date.

for £10. So in essence the deal is way better as it can be used for the entire 2018?

Having booked one of these tickets, although it doesn't state a visit date, it does say the ticket type is 'January Blues' and the date you purchased, so I would guess that they wouldn't allow you in after January, but couldn't confirm that.
Id like to take my littles I take it you dont pay for a ticket for under 2's ?

£60? It's usually £17.99 at the gate.

Me too, it clearly says for 1 visit 12 months from purchase. I don’t want to waste cash if it’s only for use in January, but it definitely says that.
Beat those January Blues:
Book E-tickets to visit between the 6th - 31st January 2018 and enjoy admission to Colchester Zoo for just £10.00 per person! Find out more here.
looks like someone's gonna have to ring up and find out if they'll honour the '1 visit 12 months from purchase' line or if it's just til the end of jan.. Shotgun not!

But the open ended tickets are showing £23.99 not £10 for me? Did it change?

Do you need to buy anything special for that (to feed animals) or is that included in standard ticket?
Heat for price, but unfortunately too far (looking at 3 hours drive each way...)

Yes it was a glitch, which they have now fixed.

On open ticket section it showed January Blues ticket £10 but it also says you can use this ticket for 12 months from date of purchase.

Now you have to purchase from a different section of the site which is for January only.

Read the above, yes.
Who visits a zoo when they should be hibernating? Literally cold.
People still go to zoos? Especially ones that shoot wolves

I had no idea that giraffes, tigers, wolves, rhinos and chimpanzees hibernated! I learn something new every day.

Heat added.

Nothing reqd. Not sure if winter schedule, but for example, last time we went the elephants and giraffes were hand fed leaves and branches by the keepers and the setup is such that that hand them to the viewing public to also feed the animals as they are docile and basically you are at head height. Check their site and discussion groups. Just remember giraffes have really strong tongues and really grab the leaves out of your hand
Yep, nothing extra to pay, just go along at the right times, queue up, feed the giraffes leaves and then we span around and got in the queue to feed the elephants cabbage.
Looks like all of HUKD went to the zoo on the same day causing major traffic issues!!
