Been wanting to try one of these for ages but the £34.99 price tag put me off. Got to say for £9.99 seems worth a punt.

8% quidco too, but delivery is £2.95 if under £35.00

not sure why the link isn't working, thats exactly the link i posted. Weird

This was the eBay DotD the other day for around this price, so factor in the cashback and its not bad at all.

Compared to £7 a pack for the patches, or £4-6 for cream/pump, this *COULD* be amazing.

But can anyone comment on success/how it works/does it work?

Best stuff I've ever used for cold sores is Blistex/Blisteze or whatever they're calling it these days works a treat.

Interesting reading on Red Light Technology.

Not just cold sores - but can be used for general spot treatment apparantly

(The one bad review is for a cold sore on the nose!? I didnt think you could get coldsores not on your mouth/lips?! Im assuming this wasnt a coldsore, hence why the product had no affect?)

Ask for the generic version of zovirax, which is aciclovir cream. Its only about 99p and its the same thing. Pharmacys normally keep it in the dispensary as they wan you to pay full whack for the branded version. Hubby is a pharmacist so i get it for free

Ordered. Thanks OP
Heard good things about these for a while now.
Best thing I've ever used though is Releev which I discovered in the States, awesome stuff but sadly unavailable over here :-(

Try applying Manuka honey. Much better than aciclovir.

Use code VCODES10 and get a further 10% off

Would this be effective for a boil on your bum?oO

Best stuff I've ever tried is the Boots homebrand clear liquid stuff in a little vial, burns like crazy but clears it up every quickly. Only about a £1 or so too.

Thanks, have ordered and can`t wait to try out, reviews seem positive enough.

Virasorb is the best stuff I've found and I've tried lots. And they sell it in the poundshop, rather than £4.50 approx in chemists. As soon as my lips feel tight, or tingly I apply it and it wards most off them off

Ordered thanks code VCODES10 works aswell extra £ off go towards Postage thank you for finding this

Dammit, bought a Lipzor a few weeks ago from Amazon

The wife just had a nasty one up her left nostril. Looked like she was growing a second head.

buy through amazon and get it for £9.99 I got free post as I have got prime free for 30 days..must remember to cancel !!

It seems like everyone's got their favourite cold sore creams. I tried loads of them and the only one that worked was Fenistil (some smaller pharmacies haven't even hear about it..). But its quite pricey for tiny tube. So even though I was very sceptic about this whole red light theory, I decided to give it a go when it was on offer last time. I don't know how it does it but it works! Makes it go away very quick if the sore has already come out and since started using it, I hardly ever get a cold sore... So highly recommend xxx

None of the above have ever worked for me but I have been coldsore free since 2003 when I started taking Lysine tablets from Holland and Barrett's on a 2 months on 1 month off cycle. I used to get at least 1 every month before then! Everyone is different though so each to their own!

IMO, Zovirax is crap. I've used an older version of these before and they're pretty effective, so I've just ordered another one. Thanks OP :-)

Some truly comical suggestions; "Manuka honey. Much better than aciclovir." is a personal favorite.

Aciclovir is probably the most effective treatment of a core sore.

The best method to prevent an outbreak or reduce the duration of one is to take l-lysine.

A large dose of when you feel the tingle and then regularly throughout the day.

Does he steal it?

Anyway, thanks OP - ordered!

ordered , thanks !

If you use aciclovir creme/lotion:
Make sure you apply it when you FIRST feel a tingle and use it 3-5x a day as described in the leaflet and continue for several days. This always significantly reduces the duration of the herpes simplex outbreak for me (e.g. a weak 3-4 days outbreak is possible).

Aciclovir won't be effective if you wait too long (>1-2 days), as it only stops the virus from replicating. Your body still has to kill off the remaining virus itself...

Beside that I'd be genuinely interested to know if this electronic device is as effective as aciclovir. If anyone knows, please speak up!

I remember reading about this last year when it was on...
Ive ordered it this time.

Heat added

I had the boots one of these and it was good, however when I went to replace the battery, it never worked again. I buy unbranded aciclovir usually from poundland and it works really well but I'd be happy to give this one a go.

My daughter has used one of these for a while now and says it is brilliant especially if you catch the cold sore at the tingly stage. Thanks for this - ordered one for my husband

I find taking Echinacea tablets from Oct-May (during the cold weather months) works.

Code VCODES10 worked, Quidco hopefully tracks

Ordered 2 - HOT

I dislike when people apparently uneducated on the matter start stigmatizing a cold sore (mostly HSV-1) infection. Surely you must know that 60-95% of the population is infected and that genital herpes (mostly HSV-2) is something different to a cold sore? Of course I would not recommend oral sex when having a cold sore.

And maybe you just don't know that you have it? Only 20% of ppl having HSV-2 (mostly genital herpes!) know that they have it!

hey don't knock genital herpes. at least it's not on yer face out in clear view :P

CODE10 for an extra 10% off first order with Lloyds

lol at all the comments saying can't wait to use this? Translation, I can't wait for a cold sore ?

the best cure is ice. give it a cold burn (need to hold direct ice cube on the sore, not in a cloth, direct touch is important). twice a day but must do it before going to bed. treat it at least for 2-3 minutes (feels a bit numb in a few seconds). A week's sincere attention rids it for ever (almost...)!

Just been into LLoyds, this was available for £9.99 in-store in Thatcham

From personal experience all of these devices and treatments make no difference at all. I had one of these light treatments and it did nothing at all.

In my case I usually get a cold sore in Autumn and that's it...no matter what I do the lip scabs up and takes almost 2 weeks to disappear.

Yes I've applied various creams/medications as soon as the tingle comes but the cold sore still says hello!

Instore too. Just bought one.
