Seen this at Costco and looks a really good quality tent . Bargain at £75
Good price described as "100% waterproof and UV guard: 4500 mm"
Fantastic tent, I bought it on the last time it was £75 and it's worth every penny and more.

The quality of materials, the features (only thing it lacks it more internal pockets tbh) and the black out technology as excellent - even in british summer the tent remains very dark indeed which makes it perfect with children.

If you need a tent, buy it.

I’ve used this tent a few times now. There’s room for two adults- a double air bed and your bags will fit fine. Too small for the kids too!
The blackout bedroom is great and I managed to sleep even when the sun was shining.
We were looking for a tent and were going to go for this - Eurohike tent . Which do you guys think is best?

Thanks for posting @JamieW1989 we have added this to today's Highlights page
I've got another Coleman tent with the blackout bedroom bit. Really works well, you definately sleep better. Only slight downside is you get more condensation when it's cooler and the heat builds up more when it's warmer so make sure you keep the vents open.

This also has a HH of 4500 which means it will stand up to pretty heavy rain.

No - general rule of thumb with tents is you need at least a one person more, if not two person more than actual people. So for two adults, probably a 3 or 4 person tent. With two kids you would be better going for something like a 5 person family tent.

A decent brand one will probably be about £250 - £300, or get two of these for about the same money as cheaper one.

My rule of thumb is subtract a third from whatever it says and that is the absolute max you can fit in. So a 4 man tent is 2.67 people max.

I recognise that one (Cairns DLX?) as been looking at a lot of tents recently. The Coleman one is definitely better in terms of how waterproof it is, it has a hydrostatic head of 4500mm whereas the Cairns is only 2000mm. I'd pay extra for the Coleman if you can afford it

I spotted this 5 person tent at the weekend, thought it a decent price (£132) with black out, lots of room to move around inside also. Maybe better suited for a family.
Thanks, can replace the one I left at Glastonbury.

2000mm HH though isn't brilliant, should be OK in a summer shower, but might not stand up to much more, especially if it's windy.

I think this Vango offer that was on here a week or so ago would be a good option at £148

"2.67 people" lol! Are you sure?
Decathlon do a much bigger tent (only suitable for car camping) for the same price - I've seen it in store and it's big enough to stand up inside and looked very nice: decathlon.co.uk/arp…tml

Yes, I tried getting three people in once but they wouldn't fit until I lopped off one leg and the head of one of them with an axe.

Basically it means you can't fit 3 adults but might be ok with 2a1c.

Only 2000 hydrostatic though and weighs nearly 10kg (appreciate perhaps not an issue if can park near the pitch).
This is really a good deal, usually these tents are very expensive
It says 100 % waterproof, but maybe some of you have it and can really say how is it?

Actually they don't disclose the hydrostatic rating , they just test that it can withstand four hours of "water flow equal to twice a European storm" without leaking. Make of that what you will although Decathlon stuff is normally quite good (in my limited experience). I guess reading between the lines it will be OK for typical UK weather but if there's a massive unusual storm then you might get a bit wet. Discussed here :

Agreed on the weight, it's defo heavier (but also bigger) than the coleman.

No, ideally you'd really want a 6-8 persons tent for room to move around. They aren't that much more tbh.

I agree - it's ridiculous the way tent sizing is advertised - think of it as the number of people that could fit in lying down with absolutely zero room for any bags or other gear. A 3 - 4 person tent as advertised is basically a 2 person tent
This tent is due for delivery today, bought it yesterday £91.17 for the 3 man version (£98 today!).
I would have loved the 4 man version as that's the £75 one ...

Crazy that the bigger tent is cheaper and that the prices fluctuate so much on daily basis. I was originally going to buy another tent, but the price of it jumped up from £25 by the time of me reading the listing, to putting it into my basket!

But need it for a motorbike trip in a couple of weeks, so decided to opt for the smaller and lighter pack size

Screw it Ive bought the 4 man version as well lol ... Will compare the sizes on the bike when I have them side by side and send one back.

Note though the £75 option is showing OOO until July 11th now.

Are you just going to be using it yourself?

I almost bought the 4 man but thought it might be overkill for just myself and would prefer something lightweight. Would like to know what you think after you have tried them both.

I bought a Vango Omega 350, it is lightweight and as it has both short poles and is in a drawstring bag it fits inside a Givi topbov easily (as in I could also fit a sleeping bag in) I tend to strap in front of the Box on the pillion as it doesnt stick out either side. Got one in a GoOutdoors sale for <£80

Why the hell didn't you take it with you? And what was wrong with it?
Anyone who is tall or has a sleeping mat that extends beyond the normal length may well struggle with the 3 person. I did, so bought the 4 person and sleep sideways This is based on the festival (Red and black) version, the only physical difference being a couple of cm larger in size than these. Fine for two adults, sleeping mats and luggage space in the main tent.

Just for me on the bike trip upto scotland in a couple of weeks.
Though got a couple of days planned when I get back for me, my 6 year old and dog in the summer holidays which is why I was thinking of the 4 man tent.

I put the 3 man up this afternoon just to check the size out, and to be honest, its more then big enough for us, so have cancelled the 4 man order. The blackout interior is a bonus and seems to work well, as it will stop my son from wanting to get out of bed at the crack of dawn lol.

Obvisouly no guide ropes on so not sretched out enough ... but gives you an indication.
For solo use I agree, 4 man would be over kill... Just a shame its cheaper!
