Updated - 08/01/2015 - Happy New Year! Since a fair number of people have picked up a Wii U from one of the recent deals and I've been encouraged to restart this thread, I've whipped up this new collection of current deals for Wii U owners who wanted to know what their options were on the gaming front.

Deals are filtered through by me and I thank everyone that submitted the original deals in the first place without which this thread wouldn't be half as effective.

Don't forget that with Amazon, you have the option of using Flubit.com to lower the price you might pay.

Feel free to correct or add if there are cheaper prices available.

Deal link goes to Wii U Party because it should go to at least one Wii U product. See the first and second post for Wii U-related links.

I'll also use the fourth post to share particular tips like how to get Club Nintendo Star Points for free and how to watch TV from your Wii U.

Media Centre Streaming with Plex to Wii Ushared by MadeInBeats

You can stream your media to the Wii U TV and GamePad from your Windows PC/Mac/NAS device using Plex

Download and install Plex for your streaming server device

How to configure Plex for your Wii U

If your Wii U won't connect to your router, here's what to do courtesy of Kotaku:
Ok so far heres what works, entering in everything manually.

1. Go into connection types, Hit "Manual Configuration"

2. Input your SSID

3. Input the correct security type, this is key.

4. Put your password in properly

5. For ip address "Do not auto obtain".

6. open up cmd in your computer, type in ipconfig

7. Now input that ip address but add 10 to the last number so "192.168.0.1" will be entered as "192.168.0.11"

8. Enter the rest of your info inside such as subnet mask and default gateway exactly as you see it in your ipconfig.

9. Now hit next, hit configure now for your DNS. When asked about DNS hit "Dont auto obtain".

10. For the first server put in 8.8.8.8

11. For the second server put in 8.8.4.4

12. Hit Next, when asked about a proxy hit no proxy

13. Leave mtu as the default

14. it should work, if not check the ip and that it is the internet ip + 10. Good luck

Thanks! Bought the play.com zelda bundle for my teens for christmas and am looking to build up a decent collection to go with it by then.

Nice one for this thread!

So on Christmas morning, apart from games and console pack, whats essential? I've opted for the screen cover and battery already (Courtesy of this thread!). Any necessities?

Worth pointing out that if you order Super Mario 3D World from Gameseek, you can add Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze for £29.75 - delivery is free only on orders over £30, hence why this isn't the best deal if you're only after the latter.

EDIT: also worth pointing out that they appear to take payment in advance, and DKTF isn't out til next year.

Great work on this thread! My WiiU just arrived this morning - used off eBay for £225 with ZombieU, NSMBU, W101 and a Pro Controller, all in absolutely perfect condition. A kind user on Neogaf sold me a Zelda Windwaker HD eShop code for £25 too.

Ecstatic to read about the TV Catchup thing too, my system's currently in my room which has no aerial connection.

Might be worth linking to your Network ID thread also? hotukdeals.com/mis…216

want donkey kong and super mario 3d world but not likin gameseeks idea of taking money upfront

Beware WOW HD

Brilliant thread , thanks op , love it

Additional wii remotes and nunchucks if you're going to have loads of people around to play with. Nintendoland is a pretty good party game as well as others like wii Party U and Spin the bottle.

Accessory-wise, you're pretty sorted. They're all optional anyway.

Excellent work, jsty. Keep spreading the word! (_;)

cheers

Thanks for the effort - much appreciated. Hot!

I'd plug it in before Xmas day & download/install any necessary system updates that need doing. Nothing worse than having to sit watching an update bar slowly fill when you want to be playing

Thank you.

If a game needs an update it's included on the disc, so you might want to get those out of the way to save waiting.

OP - I didn't know about the free stars for downloading Wii Street U, Zen Pinball 2 and Tank! Tank! Tank!
I downloaded Wii Street U a while back and don't have a survey waiting in my Club Nintendo account? Though I did register my system afterwards.

Can you use pc to setup wiiu downloads ?

I actually discovered it about 7 months back - hotukdeals.com/fre…547. What I also said in that thread was "do make sure your Wii U is linked to your Club Nintendo account"

Cheers jsty3105.

No, jsty3105 has rounded the deals up in a single thread giving credit where due in order that all the best deals are in one place for people shopping for Wii U related Christmas presents. It appears to be quite popular.

or you could just put 'wii' in the search box

Good job Jsty. Today I had my first experience of my Wii U downloading things on its own (Wii Sports Club). You can turn this off, but the Wii U will automatically download demos and things it thinks you would like based on your game collection. It's a nice feature.

Only lists a few deals at a time and also includes consoles and doesn't filter out 'deals' that Sports Connection U and local one-off deals.

Not sensibly because the way the site deals with the order is a waste of time. You could use Google. (In Last 2 weeks this site only). But that way you cannot exclude expired.

Something like this is much easier.
