They seem cheaper than C+ when I compare, and I've made dozens of issue-free shipments with them. (Though like all casualised couriers, if your local collector/deliverer is a git, you may have a genuine horror story to post about them.) NB Sig is extra on Hermes. Useful to deter eBay fraudsters.

I got 2 of the glitch super king duvets delivered last week and our Hermes agent just left them outside in the rain on my front door step in view of all passers-by

lazy cow couldn't even be bothered to ask a neighbour to take them in

Hi I just had an email to say I have 10% discount on collect + deliveries I know from before they are pretty good

Where's the deal here? The OP received an email. Not much use to the rest of us I'm afraid.

I had the email, you have to click the email link to activate the discount.

ianjury

There wasn't any code so maybe it's for everyone

Or maybe it is specific to your account, hence why they emailed you and told you that you have a discount???

If it were for everyone, it would not be a discount, but rather a price reduction

Thanks worked for me

Good.

Did a check on my Monday package and it was delivered on Tuesday - that's Economy!

Thanks worked for me

Original Poster Banned

I did a check a few months ago to check delivered on time. 4 out of 5 Economy parcels were delivered next day just like the premium service.

For those thinking of using Collect+, although this service is (to my mind) much more convenient than queueing in the Post Office, the price point is what makes it valuable. Today I sent a tracked Economy parcel weighing 2.5kg (so: slightly overweight) for £3.91.

The Post Office equivalent was about £6.50.

Been using this since October last year, great service 20% also comes off added insurance and signature, Quidco never tracks so don't bother

usually arrives next day whichever service you choose.

Use to a year ago or so not anymore usually takes 3 days from collection.

Plus they don't seem to care if the weight is slightly over.

True, and if the size is over as well.

What is so good about this offer? you get 2 day delivery for less with MyHermes? I have so far posted 500+ parcels with myHermes, can say 90% of them delivered within 2 days, only 3 parcels had problems so far.

Its ok if your parcel gets to the other end. Seems that both Hermes and Collect+ both have messed up BIG time of late for me. I'll gamble on the homeless junkie in town to deliver my parcels next time

I seriously don't think it matters one bit what grasp of the English language any shopkeeper that chooses to be a Collect Plus agent is...or for that matter the rest of the delivery service.

The shopkeeper knows exactly what to do with the parcels...put them in a store room, it is up to the customer to make sure they are labelled correctly.

Someone from Yodel collects, they are then sent to a hub and from there on to your local delivery centre...its not rocket science...I am sure GPS controls the rest from pickup.

Well can only go on my experience, my wife wanted something on Gumtree that was being sold for £100 and weighing 5kg, seller agreed to post via Collect +.....£9.99 signed for and insured up to £150 Seller took parcel to her local Collect + pickup Monday morning, delivered lunch time today (Wednesday) personally cannot grumble about the service or the cost opposed to Royal Mail.

When you go to the site you can choose wheather you have it sent to a home address or a local shop that runs the service. Having it sent to a home address cost more than having it sent to a shop. You do have to drop it off at a shop initially , they don't do home collection.

this is the very ist review i have ever written, but with gross incompetence of their delivery driver, their destination manager and their customer service i feel obliged to let as many people know as possible.i had a parcel delivered to my nearest pick-up point.a parma store not 200 yards away from where i live.i then got my email and code (tracking no),and instructions to go and collect my parcel.simple????no i went to the store with all the information needed.where as to my my amazement i was told that there had been no deliveries made today only collections by the store manager.bearing in mind that the email to me requires a delivery to the storer before the code (TRACKING NO) being released to me the receiver.so i contacted collect+ on a high tariff phone no,to enquire about the parcel.the customer service operator stated that the item could not be scanned,so was sent back from surrey to the middlands after being held overnight in mitcham london.to email the sender if they wished this parcel to be resent (reposted).i think common sense is completely absent here.as it is obvious otherwise it would have not been sent in the first place.this will be my first and last use of collect+. i hope st nick doesnt use this service.thank god for the royal mail.yvonne swallow. soon i hope to be recipient of my parcel.

Price is now £4.49 but am not going to expire as its a useful thread

Ive used them 4 times, had a slight hicup with the first 2 i sent at the same time as the shop thought they were littlewoods returns so added there own barcode and went via littlewoods first but got delivered still within 5 working days as the HDN manager phoned me and told me he would personally resolve it and he did , next 2 went without a hitch.

Everone has problems with couriers , i would use them again without hesitation

I have been promised many times someone would get back to me, and then last week i have been promised the Director would ring me to sort out the situation...still nothing.
