Colour changing egg timer £1.04 in ASDA

Found 28th Jan 2012
Was in my local Asda this afternoon and saw these on those hanging things they have up and down the aisles.

I remember paying about a tenner for mine when I bought it years ago and looking at the previous deals for these, looks like a good price.

I don't know if it's nationwide or not but I can say that my local store in Stowmarket never have any of these deals on so hopefully your local store will have some too

I've got one of these and I think I paid considerably more than a quid. They work really well. Just make sure you keep it in the fridge with the eggs so it starts off at the same temperature.

I noticed those deals but there isn't a Poundland near me, well, certainly not within 4p's worth of diesel anyway

Why do you keep eggs in a fridge ? no store does, no matter how long they keep them.

Eggs keep fresher for longer in the fridge, which is why nearly all fridges come with an egg holder. BTW, you don't need to keep the egg timer in the fridge with them, i don't and always get eggcellent results :-)
Is that actually fact then ? Why do no egg cartons have recommendations to "keep in fridge" ?

I wouldn't eat any eggs past there use by date and have never kept them in the fridge.

same here (i hope you mean the eggs & not the chicken oO). i my store eggs in the door of the fridge, in the original packaging & haven't had to throw an egg away due to it being off.

To stop them hatching.
Got mine for free with some other tat. Remember the iwoot fiasco?
I always keep eggs in fridge, sometimes for more than a month. Before cooking old ones I put them in a bowl of cold water, if they sink to bottom are fine but if floats, bin them

not true at all. That is an urban myth imho.

Only need putting in the fridge if ambient temperature rises above 25C

Eggs should always be cooked from room temp as well.
