These are a fresh NEW batch, that became free a few day's back, around Wednesday/Thursday this Week, 15th/16th March'17 (so in realistic theory, this Deal should not fall out of it's 'freebie status' within a small window of only/just 24 hours, and 24 hours alone .. as they all tend to remain free for a least 1-2 clear weeks at a time - as per my earlier offering's of the same ilk ..... )

There have been 4 new Comic freebies that have been recently added to the free comics section on Comixology. There's a mixture of various Marvel marvels in there (as opposed to Marvel, DC, etc in there this time).

That often tend to not hang about in Free Comics Section for too long, so its definitely worth grabbing at any/all of them while they're all up there for everyone now.

The main freebie Deal Link is:

The 4 Deal Links are as follows:

Origin II #1 (of 5)

Rogue (2004-2005) #1

Secret War (2004-2005) #1

Spider-Man (1990-1998) #1

Kinda ...

Not sure if your comment was a rhetorical one?, a sarcastic one?, or an 'enlightened' "I didn't know the fresh batch of Comic freebies was back on again?", or what?, hmmmmmmmmm. :-(

Lol, it's all good though, lol.

I'd like to get into the comic and graphic novel genre. Where is a good place to start, is it with Comixology?
I like the artwork and stories, I've read some on Kindle and online. I often wondered why comics need a separate file format? Wouldn't it be easier to publish them as PDFs?

Yes, Comixology is a good start.

You've read some on Kindle too you say?, Kindle is Amazon's 'baby', AND Comixology is an Amazon Company! (as mentioned via Comixology's own website, hehehe), so your essentially playing around with a different Beast, but same Animal ... )

BOTH Marvel and DC Comics have their own respective App's respectively too?, so .....

Another good place of call for your 'Comic-fest lust' could perhaps be found in another Post of mine here:

Free full set of Asterix comics (36 comics) plus extras (pdf, kindle e tc) at archive.org. http://www.hotukdeals.com/freebies/free-full-set-asterix-comics-36-comics-plus-extras-pdf-kindle-e-tc-archive-org-2639724

Which in-turn indirectly answers your other question of 'File Formats' ...

PDF was/is the defacto File Format of choice!, going wayyyyy back to pre-2000 onwards!, pioneered by Adobe, as the ONLY 'choice' for web stuffs at the time.

Things have moved on a wee little since then, huh?, and as such ...

An other good example way of looking at this is this:
SANDISK were not just the preferred choice for full SD Cards in 2000-2003 odd? (they were literally the ONLY CHOICE!).

Then surprise surprise, 5 minutes later, in early 2004 odd going, the then SonyEricsson invented their OWN 'Media Card' right? (M1 called it, soon closely followed up with their M2 right?, and ... )

You see where I'm going with this?, or ..... hehehe.

Everyone basically wants to make their unique 'Piece of History' basically?, so .... YEP!, that's kinda the unnecessary reasoning's for such whatever's and the like?, lol.

But yeh, PDF for me personally, is kind of preferable also ..... :-)

Thanks for the reply Armour3k. I'll check out the Asterix comics as well.
Something I also like, not exactly comic book but similar style, is the GTA5 artwork. I don't play computer games at all, although I think the GTA artwork is beautiful. The way each picture tells a story, is so clever and skillful: google.com/sea…r=2

Your most welcome.

It's apparent you have a bit of a discerning artful eye about you, huh?, interesting ...

Yeh, those GTA Artwork stuff's are intriguing in general (and saucy in-part, in others too, hehe).

Now, if you were able to collar some freebie 'source' somewhere, that COULD pass a load of the GTA images to you via an eBook/PDF Format or something?, then ..... TRUMPS ALL ROUND! (and no Mr. Trump references implied either, lol). :-)

Thanx also.
