To be honest I'm quite suprised the one from Game generated any heat, as it was the same price 5 weeks ago, which in my eyes doesnt really make it a deal, on or around £4.99 has become standard.

For this to be a deal you really want to be holding out for the £2.90 price point we have seen previously, unfortunately it seems this site is losing all concept of what deals actually are.

But thats just my opinion and my reasoning for a cold vote.

We are sure to see multiple hot votes based on the fact people like Command & Conquer.

17 c&c games for under a fiver is an amazing deal if you haven't already got it. Only a couple of hundred hours game play, plus Tim Curry and the Takai !

FEEL the heat

Is this for steam or origin?

I don't fully understand how these digital downloads work. Do I need steam or something first?

£5 in Game but you can get it for free on their buy 2 get one free

As Duncan Bannatyne might say - I'm out!

I hate Origin even more than I hate Steam.

In fairness it's 17 games for £5. Kinda hard to vote cold on it imo. I was one of the people who got it for £2.90, but admittedly this is still a fine price for a massive bunch of classic games.

It might be a frequent deal sure but if that was the reason to vote cold then any Valve game that goes on sale should be voted cold too, as L4D, Portal and HL games are also on sale frequently for similar prices each time.

But that's just what I think.

You used the word 'sale' whilst bringing the valve games into the equation, which is an important word, they are on sale.

My point is on, or around £4.99 for this is pretty much standard pricing.

Cold - due to purchasing it a few months back and not being able to play C&C4 TT due to its awful drm not letting my get past the menu.

****TAKE NOTE***

They have just discontinued Online Mode for these titles, so you will not get that feature unless you use a workaround.

Very HOT

Origin has come a long way since its launch and Steam is one of the best forms of DRM available. What is your objection to them and do you buy digital games on consoles?

got this a year ago. most of the games don't work on the newer versions of windows

Be warned trying to get them working on some of the newer Windows versions is a nightmare

Change the compatibility mode to Windows XP and they work fine.
I love the fact that Generals runs great on my Toshiba Venue 8

I picked this up for £5 some months ago but you can't argue about the value here - Heated!

Could already have found this for about this price at multiple places without a deal website. You know what else is a bargain? A litre of safe to drink water for less than half a penny and each of us has that available through our cold water tap all the time, it doesn't mean we'd be better off if someone kept posting deals to remind us of it every 5 minutes.

Not all titles have had their servers closed only Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars (including Kane’s Wrath expansion)
Command & Conquer: Generals (including Zero Hour expansion)
Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3

So heat added

Can you choose which games you download or do they all download together as one package?

You can pick and choose each individually.

Hate to be that guy but I voted cold. I see this deal all the time around £3-£4 and not even bothered posted here. This is normal 'sale' price and an actual hot deal would be below £3.

People like me? You mean by people who state their opinion and reasonings for voting cold?

Are you part of the group who moans when people vote cold without reasoning? As much as you may not like it I don't find this post a deal, however I don't recall firing insults at you because you do think its a deal.

Please reflect on your own comments.

How do I redeem/activate my cd key for a PC game?

I had this same problem - give EA a call they will issue you a new code to type in. They'll sort you out. Being a paid call of course they will also agree to stay on the line while you type it all in and make sure you can get into your own game.

Can't comment on Windows 8 as I don't use tablet software on a PC but they all work on Windows 7.

Thought so...it was a misleading comment, made worse by the fact it was in bold!

I do find it surprising that C&C3 servers are closed, I actually enjoyed that game online. Also find it amusing how RA2 outlived C&C3 although I guess XWIS manage the servers rather than EA so that's why...

Agree with BuzzDuraband, not really a deal as its been cheaper numerous times in the past. same with the constant "deals" for burnout paradise, which has been free numerous times in the past!

Brings back good memories. Thanks for posting deal.

Steam at least is an extremely aggressive program. Unlike any other third party component chosen by the developer it requires you to install separate software - which includes advertising in the form of valve's storefront even if you bought the game from a rival store - that sets itself up to run on startup and even if you disable that still fails to shut itself down with the game. It's not difficult to object to it's behaviour either specifically or on principle (if valve does it, what's to stop nVidia, Creative, Speedtree, Unity or any other component developer installing their own storefronts too?).

Origin is better, but it still lacks the sort of opt outs that even more public avenues have (for example e-mail).

It's up to £6.90 now.

Take it from me, you wouldn't want to have played it had you got it working. I pre ordered that game at full price. Took an hour of gameplay (after all the drm/constant online connection in order to play - even single player bullplop) to start cussing at my screen, denounce my fandom of the C&C franchise and basically sob swaying in my EA loathing anger. Never felt so ripped off at a pre order!

If you want the story element, you can watch the cut scenes on YouTube

If you have C+C worldwide warfare and C+C First Decade you might want to try going to EA live chat and getting Ultimate Collection added for free, thats my plan anyway :P
