Oh this only includes the original plus Red Alert 1? Waste of time then …Oh this only includes the original plus Red Alert 1? Waste of time then imo. Thought it was along the lines of the larger collection.

The remaster is only of C&C1 and Red Alert 1? There are no remastered versions of other C&Cs.
I think you don't appreciate what this remaster is. It's an entire re-write of the game, new code, new assets. Basically a new game that looks the same as the originals.

For the sake of 90p I'd rather order directly from Steam.

It seems you're confusing this with the other C&C collections. These are new games..
Comes with 3 expansion packs aftermath, covert operations and counterstrike

I'm not confusing this with anything. I already have the main collection which is widely available for around £3.

I was simply unaware that these remasters only included the first two games.

Poor value if that is the case imo.

A lot of work and extras are included in this. Look it up, seriously.

Also I think the confusion rises from the fact that, there is no two ways about it, the ultimate pack has been available for lower than the price of a bloody meal deal has spoiled us all. Honestly, anyone with a pc who hasn't snapped that up needs their head examined imo.
Hmm realise day or wait for the first steam sale. Hmm decisions

I didn't realise a remaster was a complete rewrite. I just wish it didn't look so very similar to the original. Yes, all 17 or something games have been so cheap.

Is this worth a day one purchase or wait for some integration into game passes?
Smashing thank you op

What price should it be? What does a new game go for upon release these days? This is entirely new code, artwork, and even music. It's a new game, for £8.55 each. It simply copies the style and game design of the originals.

Also want to add It also gives you the capability to play online as well against other players. I have the older version with all c&c and cost me £3 but they shut the ea servers ages ago. The new version offers 4k/hdr support (depending on what pc) compared to the older versions.
If you have Humble choice its £15.83‬

Remasters certainly shouldn't be ranked alongside "new" games.

£12-15 max for this release imo.

I remember back in the day spending longer trying to get the multiplayer working than actually playing the game. Some days we just gave up.

Hopefully things will be drastically different this time with no need to use VPN s and tweaks to network configurations!!

So because it's only 90% made from scratch then it should be knocked down to bargain prices upon release. Got ya.
Guys when will you learn, don't feed the trolls! Heat for the deal, this looks like an excellent remaster and really looking forward to it!
After Warcraft 3's "remaster" I think I'll wait til this is released to see if they actually did a good job of this D:

Poor value for a new version of the original game?

One of the best reveal trailers I've ever watched, from EA as well.
This might not be the entire collection, but there is mod support...

So, what does it mean for Mod Support within the Remastered Collection? Along with the inclusion of a new Map Editor, these open-source DLLs should assist users to design maps, create custom units, replace art, alter gameplay logic, and edit data. The community council has already been playing with the source code and are posting some fun experiments in our Discord channel. But to showcase a tangible example of what you can do with the software, Petroglyph has actually created a new modded unit to play with. So we asked a fun question – “What would the Brotherhood of Nod do if they captured the Mammoth Tank?” Well, one guess is they’d replace the turret with a giant artillery cannon, and have it fire tactical nukes! Thus, the Nuke Tank was born. This is a unit which is fully playable in the game via a mod (seen in the screenshot above), and we hope to have it ready to play and serve as a learning example when the game launches.

So it's not actually a remaster as titled then? A remake is more accurate?

It's a 25 year old game fella, it doesn't warrant a £20+ price tag.

If you see great value in that, then good for you

Hey, if you see value in it, good for you chap. That's all that matters eh
I will pick these up on sale at some point possibly, but i would have paid £18 for a remaster of all three Dune games.
I know its probably not as good as this remastered version but Open-RA is definitely worth checking out if you're a C&C fan.

It's called a remaster because they've tried to stay as true as possible to the original. Remake would imply they're trying to change it. It's the same art and gameplay we all love, in modern HD form. Like making a 4k remaster of a classic film.
4k remasters of classics can go for £20 (eg Terminator 2). But its because of the substantial amount of effort to make the remaster. And if effort isn't rewarded appropriately, whats the point of making it in the first place.
Gutted they couldn't find the original videos recording for their skits. Would of loved to see a better version of them

Not at all. I have the collection on Origin too (for the price that package is absurdly good value, it has to be said) and in fact own several versions of the games on CD from over the years.

If you take some time to look at what's gone into the project and all the bonus content, fmvs and additional music tracks as well as the missions from Retaliation on PS1 that has all been retrieved and added in, I still consider this package to be terrific value. Especially as it's all been reworked for modern PCs by members of the original development team, including the map editor and now confirmed mod support. If it had been 'standard' new game price of around £40, then I would most likely agree.

Comparatively, the remastered Crash Bandicoot and Spyro trilogies are still £34.99 each on Steam.
If you are a Humble Choice subscriber, they currently have 9% off the pre-order price. Making it £16.37 for an Origin key.
