Remember any months free period is added to your contract. I had a 24 month contract and 3 months free and when I wanted to resign I was told not possible as my contract was 27 months instead of 24 due to the free months.

Hi - curious why you wanted to leave. I am currently with VM on a monthly rolling in anticipation of moving to Community Fibre (stuck on coming soon since March).

I filled out the application form but never proceeded with payment...they rang me the next day and offered me 7 months free...no amazon voucher though...but I took it...and had no issues in the last month that I've had it..

Same and got offered 12m free. Worked out cheaper than cancelling my plusnet 60mbps. So took the deal. Speed is great

If you are referred by an existing Community Fibre customer, you get a £100 Amazon voucher instead of the £75 offered in this deal

Does anyone know if they can use the same wiring to replace virgin fibre? Or do i need a completely new installation?
    Mat_Wright's avatar
New installation, CF is FTTP. Virgin Media uses coaxial cable (copper which they call DOCSIS)

I signed up, an engineer came round and said he couldn't install it because he didn't want to go through a water pipe and his supervisor would be in touch.

    That was 2 weeks ago.

Oh and just to mention. If you don't complete online sign up, you'll get them to call you and offer you a better deal. (edited)

We had a similar problem when switching to full fibre, installer didn't want to drill through the wall as it was too close to our electric meter. Turns out you can arrange your own electrician / plumber, whatever, to drill a 1cm diameter hole through the wall in the right place - or do it yourself - then your fibre installer can just use that hole when they come back to try again.

I just tried the application sign up, and just before I got to the payment stage and even before closing the tab, got a call from CF. They offered me 6 months free but I said someone got 12 months. Guy advised they stopped giving the 12 months but went to speak to a manager and was able to get me 9 months free. So 9 months of the 24 months is free and the remaining 15 will be at £25. Better than the voucher value! Thanks all

I have this package since January and it's been flawless. Prior to January was using their 150/150mb service for a year again without any hiccups. I live in East London side, Whitechapel/Aldgate. Their customer service side of things can be tedious.

Call them and they will offer 6-9 months free on 24 months contract. Amazing service. Actually gives 1gb speed.

Where did you hear this from?

Pro tip - when they've installed everything, they'll get you to install the router app - they'll show you the speed coming into the router, not the speed you'll actually receive on your device or different locations. Check the speeds in different locations before they leave.

Sorry. You can only get our super fast broadband in London, but it is so good it's worth moving for!…even if they paid me I wouldn’t move to London!

BT have apparently rolled out FTTP to about 8m Homes from something I read the other day.

I live near Bury in Manchester and I have had 900Mbps FTTP from BT for over a year now and they are apparently about to start trialling 1.2 and 2.4Gbps soon.

And fwiw I would never live in London either.

Great offer if you can get it, but the catchment area is so small.......had to make do with Talktalk 900 @ £45/month (which isn't so bad when you consider they provide a couple of Eero pro 6 routers to WiFi6 mesh your house).

    Shames it is London Only
  13. charlie12's avatar
As the standard price is now £27 then this deal is "only" saving £2 per month now!
Definitely worth negotiating or waiting for better deals to appear.

I went from 320kb/s to 5 megabyte fibre a few years ago and have never felt the need for anymore
  15. kelv1n's avatar
About 3 months ago, I saw fibre being pulled to the BT poles recently, and thought it was OpenReach prepping to launch FTTP in the area - But it turned out to actually be Community Fibre. I've since had it fitted, I get the full 1GB up and down, and they give a very decent router (I get 700-800Mbs on my phones WIFI), so far, I'm extremely happy, also I never thought I would see the day we finally ditched the Asychronous speeds.

I got a call about 3 weeks ago, it was then installed about 4 days later... which was perfect timing, as my Virgin Media contract has just ended, and they wanted to increase my bill from £57pm to £110pm - I took great pleasure in showing them my middle digit! (edited)

I'm so envious! I hope when my current contract ends next year that I'll have some better options, CF is so close yet not quite close enough!

I've been waiting for decent upload speeds for years. I don't really need 1000 mb/s down but 100 mb/s up would be amazing

Not correct. Only some parts in London.

Getting bored with this broadband deal when it always comes up 🥱

Recently switched from Virgin to CF in Carshalton, Surrey and it has been perfect. The guy who installed it said he use to work for Virgin and is much happier working for CF. It seems that CF are keeping their customers and employees happy.
    nads205's avatar
Correct. The reviews on Glassdoor.com seem to verify this. Virgin are terrible.

Had my CF line activated recently. I have e to say the team was very professional. And the chap who stayed to make sure everything working was just brilliant.

The most professional outfitter for any services tbh. The guys used to work for openreach but now works as subcontractor for CF. Tho I don’t think they get paid a lot for their work tbh. It was a 3hr installation and activation. The job on the terminal showed £50. I mean you can only got about 3 of these a day. Doesn’t sound like a good earning in all fairness. But the guys seem to rate their condition.

It's better to call them and negotiate, I got 7 months for free. way better than any other voucher or cashback.
  24. rudeboypeter's avatar
How do you check coverage? Just spent 10 minutes crawling their site and can't find that simple information?
  25. Username50's avatar
Who the hell are community fibre?
  26. McShane's avatar
*sigh* Every few months a great offer from Community Fibre pops up on here, I go to check to see if I can get it yet and it still shows 'Good news! We're coming to your area.'

It's probably been a year or so now. (edited)
  27. RubberSalad's avatar
These guys were supposed to "arrive in our area" a year and a half ago. I think I registered interest like 20times already.
I think BT will have full fibre before them at this rate. I'm in Croydon
  28. gduk's avatar
Shame they don't offer the same to existing, well at least I got it for £30 I guess.
    charlie12's avatar
Customer loyalty offers and existing tariff/package flexibility is mostly non-existent with CF.
  29. Kamraino's avatar
Those with recent installations. Did CF give you an ADTRAN modem and Velop router or just the velop Router?
    gt94sss2's avatar
You get the Adtran modem as well
