surley this was never worth 450 quid as website suggests?

What's the graphics card like on this? What sort of games could it handle? I know nothing about laptops. Thanks

Looks like shared graphics to me.

It's single core so is going to be a bit of a lightweight. A good deal for this, but probably better to pay extra for something else that's bound to come elong.

As bigbak says, the AMD V-140 CPU is a single core low power CPU built more for long battery life than computing work.

It is more the sort of CPU you get in a netbook.

This laptop is only suitable for "light" work such as internet and email.

You're correct - although I'm not so sure about the battery life; I couldn't find any reviews to substantiate the 7 hour battery life claimed. The V140 has a 25W TDP which is not particularly low-consumption.

Pretty weedy - but better than the intel GMA graphics - it can play quite a few basic games. See here for more info notebookcheck.net/ATI…tml

I think the Acer 5551A for £349 at Argos is better value (if battery life is not imperative) - same graphics, still a basic CPU but a lot more powerful than this V140 and it has a 3 year warranty. (It's possibly available on Argos ebay outlet too for a little less).

I've just bought this today and it hasn't got a media card slot either. Got it for £299 as a replacement to my gigging laptop (I'm a mobile DJ) which blew up a few weeks ago.

It's not clogged up with rubbish software and my DJ software seems to working well on it after a couple of hours testing. I can see it's not the most powerful machine in the world but looks like it will do want I want it to.

Just noticed I didn't get any MS Office stuff, either?
