Might be worth spending £20 extra on this:
ebuyer.com/pro…603

Looks like the same spec, but it has a bigger hard disk (320GB) and Bluetooth

Ta; just spotted that myslef and the 500GB HD version £389.91 also - have added to title and rep due where due sir

No problem.

Also worth noting that the one that is £389.91 (ebuyer.com/pro…604) has a different (better) processor. However, it has a worse graphics card compared to the other two cheaper ones. Can't seem to find a budget laptop with everything!

would this be quick running editing software like vegas pro 9?

Is the graphics card/processor on either of them remarkably better than the other?

As in, will it effect the running of the laptop noticably?

Where's the 500GB one? Can't see it on eBuyer.

Sorry brainfreeze. Got it.

nice price - but I'd seriously watch HP/Compaq when it comes to reliability - their malfunction rates are FAR higher than any other brand - and don't expect any help from the manufacturer if its just outside warranty...

My current laptop is a Compaq. Its approx 7 years old, and I haven't had any problems at all.
:-D

I bought this laptop just before xmas.

The noise from the CPU/GPU fans is horrific.

As far as I can tell this is an AMD issue.

Sent it back for a full refund.

The Intel processor is slightly better (scores higher in benchmarks) and would probably be better for battery life too. But for basic use, I don't think you would notice much difference.

The graphics card difference would be noticeable if you want to play (3D) games.

Bought 2 Compaqs and 1 HP from ebuyer HP had problems , after going back to HP twice, 3rd time they exchanged it for a different model HP, they offered me this CQ, but I went for the 611 or something , the ones with the Intel Chips. the intel models laptops are lighter, smaller and battery last longer.

The 2 CQ models I got are very good , no problems and quite slick . Windows 7 works nice and smooth, no bad points really, apart from the battery time could be better , but you can stretch it by the power management. HDMI can be very useful, particularly for presentation etc.

I would recommend these machines , for the price they are very good value, oh and get the model with Bluetooth, one of mine doesn't and it can be a pain with dongle.
