This seems like a good price for everything you get. I am not to sure how this tog rating stuff works but it is 10.5, whatever that means.

I hope this has not been posted before, cant find it when I search

A new bed needs a new bedset.

Includes:

1 x Double Duvet
2 x Pillows
2 x Pillow Protectors
1 x Mattress Protector

I do not have a new bed but I am sure it will be fine on my old one.

From the 29th of August.

It means the higher the tog number the warmer it will be. I think the average is about 13.
Heat added anyway.

What about sheets and valances ?

I think that the ''mattress protector'' they refer to is just a normal fitted sheet.

Well speaking from experience, sheets don't protect matresses from anything, deformation, staining, fire, plague or pestilence

A matress protector protects against fire?

I wouldn't have thought so, where did you get that idea?

Well sheets don't, I have no idea about matress protectors.

13 tog is the max, like a heavy winter one. I use 5 in the summer, 10.5 is pretty warm so would be good for colder months. Heat added

Tog is a measure of the thermal resistance of a unit area of textiles. The lowest rating is for summers (eg 4.5) and the highest (can go all the way up to 15) should be used in the winter. This 10.5 duvet is a compromise.
The mattress protector is just that. It's meant to be used in addition to a fitted sheet as they generally have a slightly plasticky feel, although not quite as bad as the kids waterproof ones. Same with the pillow protectors which should be used with a pillowcase over the top.

10.5 tog is a great choice for duvet. I find 13 is too warm in summer. 10.5 is warm enough in winter and cool enough in summer. If you're very you could also choose to get 2 separate duvets (1 for winter and 1 for summer). However, you may find yourself disappointed if you do when the thermometer hits 10 degrees in Great British Summertime on some nights.

I work in the bedding industry and £14.99 is a great price for this set. Never heard of "pillow protectors" - presumably, they're just pillow cases. The mattress protector is probably not very absorbent (possibly not waterproof, like some mattress protectors are).

Mattress protectors are not fitted sheets - they are usually thick in the middle and very thin round the edge. You should use a sheet as well as a mattress protector.

As for fireproof, many bedding products these days are made to follow fire resistant British standards. Whether they actually are or not probably isn't something you want to test if you plan to sleep in the bed you're testing.

10.5 is a winter tog, 13 is for wimps.... 4.5 tog is a summer grade

Highest tog is 15, i prefer 13.5 and 10.5 is your very average joe.

Am i the only one that sticks with 10.5 all year? haha. This would be perfect for me for Uni, exactly what im looking for.. shame its a double

They have the single aswell. aldi.co.uk/en/…le/

I'd stick with 4.5 all year round if I didn't have to share a bed! Quite a good price for these.

The mattress protector is just that, not a fitted sheet.

Good deal OP, but since Duvets have been universal for about 40 years, how can someone not know what a Tog rating refers to ?

Why would anyone be setting their bed on fire? Too much friction maybe?

I don't care what tog it is, as long as it is thick and mattress like, good price.
