Thanks, just reserved one. Will pick it up later. H&R left.

That's a good price. I paid £65 for the next model down not too long ago.

Nice quick drive too.

How does this compare to a Freecom?
I find mine slow as hell for initial boot, but semi ok for everything else

Just tried looking online but can't work it out - does this model require an external power supply?

Got a WD Passport 320Gb which is great for travelling due to its size, but after another storage device to back things up on and leave in a safe place!

Does anyone know if this is just USB or Ethernet too or am I taking the michael asking that question for that price

I thought Amazon is cheaper?

£56.50

Good price, but I've just had my 320GB WD MyBook die on me losing 300GB worth of photos, music and videos, not happy :o(. Currently trying to find away to recover the data

I use the freecom drives, dont know whether to recommend this to a firend instead, as its a good price for a store purchase

Good spot... had a look at amazon though a link on here and only market place sellers were selling it.

As someone has said... if you want it now etc... This deal works out £58.50 after quidco.

Thanks Bulldog75 - thought it would do (got a LaCie 'Lego brick' drive which does too), but always worth checking. Cracking price for the capacity of it, but think I'll stick with Passports for now to take advantage of their amazing size (or lack of!).

You'll get the advantage of Amazon's price drop policy too. Not that it's likely to drop within the next 30 days but if it does you can get the difference back.

You're on fire today! A bit of hassle but a very good price!

Where does the £74.99 come from, is that the standard in store price?

Does that mean that their advert is misleading, something along the lines of internet prices in-store?

Technically you have to go on the internet to get the internet prices in-store, if you didn't then you'd be paying extra?

Unless your price match... which is how they get away with it (and also the reason why they price match!)

Oh, so it's only internet prices if you've done your research on the internet before! So without the internet you can't get internet prices in-store as they say.

Good find. PC World definitely price match Amazon, I've done it twice including one time where the sales guy didn't even bother to check the price on Amazon! Worth taking a printout of the Amazon price though, showing as in stock.

This happened to me with a Toshiba external drive. I took it apart (had to destroy the casing), removed the HDD and stuck it into an £8 external HDD case from ebuyer. Powered it up, and bingo - the data was still there, totally intact. It was only the external case circuitry that had died.

Got that tip from someone else on this forum, to whom much thanks is due...

Bulldog75;2336482

Yes, it does require an external power supply as it is a 3.5in drive

maybe get the one with the longest warranty

I dont like any of those drives, but i guess i'd get the WD drive out of those, ive heard bad things about the seagate, despite their supposedly excellent internal drives

if the fault is with the product then amazon even pay for the deliveries
or at least they used to

I paid about £10-15 more than this when I got mine a few months back. A very nice external HDD, and very small. I have it on my shelf next to Nintendo DS games and it's only about 4cm taller than those! Quite fast too. This is a good deal

maradona;2352788

No there is no ON/OFF switch.

If you are getting this to save your iso file don't it doesnt work.
what a lot of s**t.
what is the point if it won't transfer more than 4gb file at a time.
when i try to transfer a iso 4.37gb it say's file too large.
